We Can't Get Over Shiloh Jolie's Stunning Hair Transformation

When Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was born, she was easily one of the most famous babies in the world. And that means all eyes have been on her — and her changing hair — ever since. Shiloh has kept the world guessing about their cuts and colors ever since she first graced the cover of People, alongside her famous parents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, at just a few months old. Clearly, the interest in their life has been there right from the start, as ABC News reported People paid the couple a whopping $4 million for exclusive rights to the first photos of the youngster.

But, despite their very public start to life, Shiloh has managed to stay somewhat out of the spotlight over the years. They've only made a handful of red carpet appearances alongside their family members and doesn't appear to have given a single interview about their personal life, despite being so famous. But that doesn't mean interest in their life has subsided. In fact, despite staying under the radar, Shiloh has remained a total style icon, with the world still very much intrigued by their stunning transformation. They've rocked quite a few different hair cuts and styles over the years, and we're taking a look back at some of their ever-transforming 'dos.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's natural blonde locks were glowing in 2007

Even before they turned one, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was a hairstyle icon. As a baby, she had natural glowing blonde hair that made her look totally angelic. This was on full display during a trip with her family to a Chicago museum in 2007. In one series of paparazzi photos, baby Shiloh is seen looking absolutely adorable while her mom Angelina carries her. Her super blonde (and probably never cut) baby hairs (that she possibly inherited from father, brad Pitt) were on full show.

The following December, Angelina Jolie opened up to Elle UK about her little girl's golden locks and how much she took after their dad. "[Shiloh] looks like Brad. It's funny because she's almost going to be the outcast in the family because she's blonde and blue-eyed," Jolie joked to the outlet (via Today). She also opened up about how fortunate their daughter was compared to her other children, whom she adopted. "Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born. But I'm conscious that I have to make sure I don't ignore her needs, just because I think the others are more vulnerable," she explained. That shut down a previous report about Shiloh's hair from InTouch published before they were first seen in public, as the outlet claimed Shiloh had "tufts of brown hair and Brad's nose" (via People). Clearly, there are no brown locks here!

2010 saw a little girl with longer locks

When Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was a toddler, candid snaps of her enjoying a fun day out at a park in Budapest, Hungary with her family showed her naturally blonde locks on full display. The youngster, who was only 4-years-old at the time, had what appeared to be a playful lob (a long bob, which is a good entryway into short hair). It was clear from the photos that she had clearly inherited her dad's light locks rather than their mom's dark brunette tresses.

The varying shades of blonde nearly looked like lowlights, which had some bloggers, including Jolie Pitt Resource, speculating if Jolie and Pitt may have actually dyed their young daughter's hair. However, it's possible the youngster's hair was just going through a natural process of change as she grew up. It's a fact that blonde hair contains less melanin, which is what makes it so light in the first place. However, over time, melanin production can increase, contributing to a darker appearance.

There was also chatter at the time about if Shiloh may have taken the scissors to her own locks after she was seen with a slightly blunter, choppier 'do. "Perhaps [Shiloh] cut a chunk out of her own hair and her parents had to cut it shorter to fix it. Children do it all the time," Emma Jenner, a child development and behavioral specialist, suggested to NJ.com.

2011 proved Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's hair has lots of natural volume

In July 2011, 5-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was photographed with her mom and siblings enjoying a day at the London Aquarium. The adorable youngster's locks were still the signature blonde they had from birth, but the candid photos proved their hair had some serious body too. The tresses were cut into a more rounded and straight lob style than we'd seen their sport before, and they looked so precious with the neck-length cut.

The year prior, Angelina Jolie opened up about how Shiloh had started to make her own choices when it came to their style. "I think [Shiloh] is fascinating, the choices she is making. And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not," the actor told Reuters. Jolie also suggested Shiloh had a lot of say when it came to their appearance, including their hair and clothes, sharing that she'd encouraged them to present who they are on the inside via their style. "Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth," Jolie explained.

2013 was all about a more structured cut

When Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was 7-years-old, we saw more of their penchant for a traditionally masculine style. Gone was their lob cut when they were photographed with the year prior when Shiloh stepped out with dad Brad Pitt at Los Angeles International airport in 2014. Instead, they were sporting a shorter and more structured cut. The jet-setting kid's choppier cut was short at the back but had some longer pieces at the front to frame their gorgeous face. The youngster was also rocking a side part and pushed the front of their locks across their forehead from the left side.

But Shiloh's style wasn't just evident in the new haircut. The super cool kid arrived in the City of Angels wearing a black AC/DC hoodie, which they paired with black cargo shorts and gray sneakers with red laces. See, we told you they were a super trendy style icon — even as a child.

Shiloh showed off a stylish bob in 2015

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt made one of their rare award show appearances at the 2015 Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards, and they'd changed up their look again. This time, Shiloh was showing us how much they were growing up by sporting a more sophisticated, yet still youthful, cut. The very structured and choppy hairstyle we'd seen a couple of years earlier had disappeared, and instead they were sporting a styled bob similar to the power bob.

The youngster was still rocking their signature blonde locks, but instead their hair was slightly longer, as it appeared to be in layers and finished at the nape of their neck. Shiloh pushed their locks behind their ears and rocked their bob in a cute and chic way by giving it a heavy side part. Although we know side parts have since been declared out by Gen Z, much to our dismay, Shiloh proves exactly why this was once the hottest way to style our hair.

Short, styled hair was Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's go-to in 2019

In September 2019, we saw Shiloh Jolie-Pitt step out sporting an even more androgynous style. Shiloh appeared on the red carpet in Los Angeles for the world premiere of mom Angelina Jolie's Disney movie "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," looking super cool with a cropped cut. The 'do matched perfectly with her effortlessly chic leather-like jacket, button-down shirt, black pants, and neutral sneakers.

Shiloh looked like they were having a great time with her family members as she playfully posed alongside her mom and siblings, including Pax Jolie-Pitt, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, and Knox Jolie-Pitt. Shiloh's short and styled cut had a deep side part and they pushed their locks over from the left to the right side of their head.

But that wasn't the only place Shiloh showed off her edgy and cool style. Shiloh also stepped out with her mom and sister Zahara for the Rome, Italy, premiere of the movie the following month, showing off a very similar hairstyle. This time, Shiloh's hair had a little less volume, as her quaff was on the smaller side. She appeared to use more product to keep the locks in place too, as their mane was perfectly manicured.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt experimented with braided hair in 2021

For years, we had grown used to seeing Shiloh sport a more traditionally chic and androgynous hairstyle on the red carpet. However, at the October 2021 premiere for her mother's movie "Eternals," in London, Shiloh proved she wasn't afraid to show off a more stereotypically feminine look.

The young star looked like their mom's twin while posing alongside her on the red carpet. Though her updo looked relatively simple from the front, it was actually pretty intricate. The look consisted of multiple French braids that started at their hairline, pulled into a braided bun that sat high on the back of her head. Though we couldn't see exactly how long Shiloh's hair was due to the styling, it certainly looked like she had grown it out quite a bit to give this look a go.

2021 was also about the relaxed bun

A few months later, in November 2021, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt stepped out alongside her mom, Angelina Jolie, and brother, Pax Jolie-Pitt, for the premiere of "Paper & Glue: A JR project." The trio posed together with the man of the moment, JR, on the red carpet, where Shiloh gave us a slightly better idea of how long her locks had grown. Her dark blonde hair (which we can assume is close to her natural color) was pulled into a loose, casual bun behind her head.

To match the understated aesthetic, she kept the glam to a minimum for the red carpet event. She didn't appear to be wearing any makeup at all, proving she definitely inherited her parents' gorgeous genes.

That same year, Angelina Jolie spoke about the importance of encouraging all of her children to be themselves. "I have six very individual human beings in my home. I am so excited about all the different stages and feelings and curiosities that they go through. Why wouldn't you be?" she told People. "We're supposed to help them figure out who they are. And you can't figure out who they are if you don't enthusiastically develop with them."

The (pink!) buzzcut called Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's name in 2023

Ready for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's shortest hair cut ever? Because this one really is super short. After showing off one of their most traditionally feminine hairstyles ever in 2021, Shiloh went the opposite way in 2023. She decided it was time to buzz off their longer locks and was instead rocking a shaved head. In a video shared to YouTube by The Hollywood Fix, Shiloh's blonde locks were super-duper short as they exited a vehicle with their mom.

Though Shiloh hasn't spoken publicly about why she opted to buzz off her tresses (though we know it can be a great beauty reset), her mother Angelina Jolie may have offered a hint on Instagram. In February 2023, the actor shared a post encouraging people to send in locks of their hair for an art project by artist Prune Nourry, created to support women in Iran. Jolie revealed in the caption that the family was taking part and included a shot of what appeared to be the back of Shiloh's freshly buzzed head.

In photos and video shared by Page Six that summer, Shiloh had taken her bold look one step further by dying her short locks bright pink, a total power move. She was actually ahead of her time with this look, because buzzcuts became a huge short hair trend for 2024. What a hair icon!
