Kate Middleton stunned in the perfect fall look while she and Prince William visited the Isle of Bute in Scotland on September 17, 2026. The day involved a lot of time outdoors, and Kate was prepared with a sensational outfit that was weather-appropriate, suited to autumn, and allowed her to move around with all of the day's activities.

While there, the couple stopped by the Bute Shinty Club, where they played a game of shinty, a traditional Scottish sport played with a curved stick and a small ball. They also visited a local pub. Then Kate and Will, known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay while in Scotland, participated in a beach clean-up project at Ettrick Bay.

She wore a chocolate brown Burberry trench coat with brown slim-fitting pants, a green turtleneck and suede ankle boots. The charming pièce de résistance was the green baker boy hat she pulled out at the beach when it started to rain. The princess is skilled at dressing for autumn, perhaps because the U.K. tends towards more rainy, unpredictable weather. But whatever the case, this is just one more instance where Kate's enviable wardrobe offered fall outfit inspiration. It was the perfect chic but casual fall fit.

Kate Middleton is the ultimate millennial mom this fall in her chocolate brown skinny jeans

Kate Middleton made one thing clear while visiting the Isle of Bute : chocolate brown is one of autumn's most flattering shades. Obviously, the princess can't get enough of it, and it's no wonder; chocolate brown is one of the colors you'll be seeing in everyone's wardrobe this fall. Plus, the brown shade looked stunning with her green turtleneck and the green baker boy hat.

One of the most charming things about this particular outfit is Kate wearing her brown skinny jeans. The princess loves this specific cut of pants, and Kate has co-signed these as the denim trend that will never die. There's no doubt that she's seen the memos dismissing skinny jeans as outdated, but Kate clearly doesn't care. She's wearing what she wants and making it stylish anyway. So thanks to that independent spirit — a sure sign of true fashion — and her stunning color combos of browns and greens, Kate won the fashion contest for fall 2026.
