The Colors You'll Be Seeing In Everyone's Wardrobe Come Fall 2026
The advent of fall ushers in new change. Not only in the changing of the colors of the leaves, but also our wardrobe. For those of us in tune with the ever-changing fashion trends, fall 2026 is set to deliver some truly surprising additions to our color palette. That is why Women spoke to expert color analyst and style expert Rayne Parvis, for her piercing and invaluable input on the hottest colors that you'll be seeing everywhere for fall 2026.
Although it's natural to assume this season would entail the usual warm terracotta browns, dark maroon, or yellow-greens, things are certainly switching up. We're seeing an influx of new shades that are definitely perfect for the season, and ones you wouldn't think of wearing before for fall. "What I'm really loving about the fall 2026 NYFW color trends is the mix of muted with brights and cool tones and warm tones and light and dark ... we got all the color characteristics covered," Parvis says. And it's certain to give your wardrobe the spice and flair that it needs for fall 2026.
Warm terracotta is in this fall season
Compared to the deep chocolate brown that was one of the color trends to have on your fashion radar for fall 2025, this season has us going a tad lighter on the browns. Warm terracotta shades are having a moment this fall and it seems the preference is leaning towards deep colors with a reddish undertone to them. And the good thing is, this shade is always quite easy to mix and match with. Not only does it scream high fashion, but it also channels class and elegance.
Sea-green is a must-have in your wardrobe
We're saying goodbye to the lime and olive greens of last season to introduce sea-green into the mix. This gorgeous ethereal shade is a truly unique addition to the color trends of fall 2026, and is something sorely needed in a sea of brown and burgundy. "Neptune Green is such a fun change from the olive greens we're used to seeing," Parvis gushed to us, though she added that such a shade may be difficult to style with. As such, Parvis advises us that starting with accessories is a good way of dabbling with such a daring color, before fully committing.
Bright acacia yellow makes a stunning entrance
While butter yellow was the on-trend color you should add for your spring/summer 2025 outfits, it's time to set it aside for a different shade of yellow. Acacia yellow is getting the fashion world in a chokehold this fall, giving your wardrobe the exact amount of gaiety and lightheartedness perfect for the season, while making you stand out. "You can still wear the traditional autumn colors you love, but now you have these more vibrant shades to mix in and add a little zest," Parvis exclusively explains to Women.
You can't go wrong with a touch of hot pink
We're truly deciding to be more bold and adventurous this fall, as hot bright pink is quickly turning heads as one of the hottest color trends. A touch brighter than your usual 'Barbiecore' pink, fuchsia is a tried-and-true method for adding a bit of pizzazz to your color palette. Similar to the previous colors on this list, fuchsia might be quite challenging to know how to work with.
Thankfully, our resident style expert has an unconventional, risk-free solution, and that's by using our nails. "I could try any color trend and live with the color for a little while to see if I actually like it."
Turn heads this fall with this truly unique shade
Pinks are truly having a moment this fall, but this shade is one that stands out all on its own. A beautiful fusion of grayish purple-pink, this color works surprisingly well with classic colors like black and gray. What's more, the color truly comes to life when in materials like silk or satin, which really elevates your look into something sensual and stylish. Grab a flowing skirt or a translucent gauzy top for a truly out-of-this-world look.
Powder blue is also having a moment
We're leaving icy blue behind in 2025 to welcome its sweeter, more sensual counterpart in powder blue. And its softer hue makes it the perfect shade to welcome in for fall 2026, and an alternative option to the traditional browns that are synonymous with the season. You can never go wrong with a head-to-toe outfit in this color (as seen above), but it also presents an opportunity to play with darker colors and have fun with contrasts. Truly, a stellar shade.
Red mahogany is the color of the season
While brown is considered normal during fall, this particular type of brown is sure to spice things up for the season. Bringing a reddish undertone to it all, this burgundy brown screams luxury and effortless elegance. And in a structured, tailored outfit, it will truly shine and make you look ready for the runway. Although there's nothing wrong with going all out with your neutrals, it'd be the perfect time to sprinkle a touch of yellow or pink to the ensemble.
"Try bringing [fuchsia] in through an accessory first, like a cute scarf tied around your bag," Parvis recommends to us.
Olive green is forever a fall staple
You can never fall out of love with olive green and this fall sees this classic shade at the forefront. This earthy tone is also the perfect shade for the coming winter, as it dominated the fall/winter runways for Valentino and Zimmermann. From tailored double-breasted leather coats to pleated skirts, this shade certainly goes well with red mahogany and acacia yellow.
The ingredient for the perfect fall wardrobe is here with this incomparable shade, and we're sure you'd be hard-pressed to find it wanting.
