Katie Miller's Biggest Fashion Fails That Prove She Needs A New Stylist
If you've ever caught yourself watching U.S. Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller give an incoherent rant that even CNN's Jake Tapper can't follow, and wondered who in their right mind would marry him, we have the answer for you: Katie Miller (née Waldman). Although she briefly worked in the Department of Government Efficiency, Miller is now hosting "The Katie Miller Podcast," which she claims is the conservative answer to Alex Cooper's podcast, "Call Her Daddy."
Although Miller is no longer technically working for Trump or in the White House, it hasn't stopped her from falling prey to some typical MAGA-related fashion fails. Granted, she has yet to jump on the Mar-a-Lago plastic surgery trend, but there have been more than a few faux pas along the way. In fact, it's almost as though Miller has taken the worst bits and pieces of Karoline Leavitt, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Lauren Boebert, and tried to put it all together and make it work. But so far, it hasn't.
As Miller told Axios in August 2025, she's hoping her podcast will extend past politics and include hard-hitting conversations that need to be had. If that's the plan, then we really hope that fashion will become a topic that's eventually discussed. Because when it comes to Miller's long list of fashion fails, she either needs a new stylist or, if she doesn't have one, should acquire one immediately. At this rate, Miller is reaching Guilfoyle-level cringe — and that's a place no one wants to find themselves. Well, except for Guilfoyle, so kudos to her.
Danielle Steel called and wants her bedazzled shoulders back
Throughout the 1980s, Danielle Steel became a multi-millionaire thanks to her romance books. However, she also became known for her author photos on the back of each of her novels, because they were so over-the-top. In other words, rocking a black dress with bedazzled shoulders, as Katie Miller is doing here, is a look Steel would totally have gone for. However, the difference here is that Miller is not a multi-millionaire and it's not the 1980s. Not only does she look outdated, but the dress is aging her too.
Dressing younger than your age never goes well
In June 2022, Katie Miller went blueberry picking with her family while wearing a tank top and denim shorts with a lace hem. While there's nothing wrong with denim shorts, it's the hem that's the issue. Similar to all the times Kristi Noem made herself look older by dressing like a teenager, Miller is doing the same thing here. These shorts are not for a 30-year-old woman, but someone around 13 or 14. Yes, comfort is key when lugging around kiddos, but these shorts don't even appear that comfy.
Enough with the cutout dresses already
If ever there were an outdated trend that Kimberly Guilfoyle can't stay away from, it's the cutout dress. This trend briefly came back, only for it to be sent on its way again in fall 2023. However, that hasn't stopped MAGA women from wearing this look repeatedly, no matter the occasion. In December 2025, Katie Miller posted to Instagram a carousel of photos from D.C. holiday parties, and this dress was in the collection. Although the color of the gown is flattering on Miller, the dress itself doesn't appear to fit her quite right, and the cutout feature of the ensemble just looks cheap.
Florals for fall are, evidently, not groundbreaking
In November 2021, Katie Miller celebrated the first birthday of her daughter Mackenzie and, again, decided to dress like a teenager. Between the ruffled hem, the floral print — which would be a little off-brand for the season if this event hadn't taken place in Florida — and the ruffling of the capped sleeves of the dress, it's just all too juvenile. Miller's white sneakers add to the teenage vibe of the look, and aren't particularly flattering.
There's just far too much going on here to make sense
If Katie Miller had a proper stylist, this outfit would've never made it outside. For starters, her pants are too short for business attire, but too long for a pedal-pusher length. There's nothing wrong with red pants, especially since cherry was 2025's signature red and this photo is from January 2025. But a black heel instead of a neutral-toned one would have given attention to Miller's feet, as opposed to making them appear invisible. There's also the issue with the bright white turtleneck against the off-white jacket, making the latter look like it needs to be laundered.
Dressing for the gym on family day
It goes without saying that when you're schlepping three kids around D.C., even if you have help from your partner, it isn't easy. Because of this, dressing as comfortably as possible makes perfect sense — to a point. In this photo that Katie Miller posted on Instagram, although she's definitely having a great family day, based on that smile that seems truly authentic, she's not really dressed for the occasion. Instead, it appears as though she's dressed for the gym.
Taking fashion tips from Karoline Leavitt isn't a smart move
Since Karoline Leavitt became the White House press secretary in January 2025, we've noticed some of her biggest fashion-related faux pas. For example, when it comes to unflattering frumpy work outfits, she truly excels. For the White House Easter Egg Roll in April 2025, Katie Miller took a page from Leavitt's book of fashion tips, with a pink frilly dress that served up major grandma vibes. Completing her look, Miller went with generic-looking white sandals, proving if you're going to be frumpy, you should never half-measure it.
Proving she's no Kate Middleton
While Kate Middleton is many things, one of her biggest standout features is that she knows how to turn a pantsuit into a sleek fashion statement. However, when Katie Miller tried to make a pantsuit work for her when she interviewed Nicki Minaj in January 2025, it fell flat. Not only was the pantsuit a few shades too light, but her top, which appeared to be a tank top, was too casual for the look to work. Next time, Miller should opt for a button-down or, even better, admit she's not a pantsuit person.
