As much as it might be sad to say goodbye to the summer 2025 pedicure trends that truly left us stunned, the word on the street is that change is good for the soul. That's especially the case when downshifting from long, hot days into cozy, sweater-weather evenings by the fire. With the change of seasons, we not only change our wardrobe, but our entire mindset to fit the mood of autumn. This also means it's time to consider what you'll be doing with your pedicures for the next few months too.

Because no two autumns are the same, Women exclusively spoke to celebrity nail artist, Cenita Scott, about what to expect in pedicure trends for fall 2025. From mossy greens and polka dots to rose gold accents, there's a lot on the horizon. In other words, with so many options, it's definitely going to be a fun season for pedicures.

Swap out traditional pedicures for dry ones

If you don't have the time or interest in soaking your feet in a bucket of still water for nearly an hour, then you're in luck because not only are waterless pedicure full of benefits for your toenails, but they're also trending this fall. "Dry pedicures are the 'it thing' to do for your feet," Cenita Scott tells Women. "It does not require traditional soaking in water basins, [allowing] for a more meticulous polish application." Some experts also claim that it may be more sanitary to skip the water basin. It doesn't matter how thoroughly and how often those things are cleaned, if it has jets, gunk can be on rotation and impossible to avoid.

Keep things clean and simple

Just because we're heading into a colder season, doesn't necessarily mean you need to dive into darker shades. For those who love a simple and clean nail, you'll be just as in style opting for minimalism as you would be if you went for an oxblood pedicure. "Clean nails are always on trend... soft nude tones feel timeless and versatile and goes with any outfit," says Cenita Scott. "Add soft pink or nude nails with some pearl chrome to give it that extra something special." Should you decide you want to elevate your look and have some fun with your pedicure, the trendiest chrome nail variations can add a magical metallic vibe.

Pay hommage to Holly Golightly

Tiffany blue? For fall? Groundbreaking — because it actually is. While this shade of blue may not seem very autumn-y, it's just the right amount of pop everyone needs every once in a while. It's also a truly iconic color, thanks very much in part to Truman Capote and Audrey Hepburn, who played Holly Golightly in the 1961 film, "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Although Gucci has the ideal shade of Tiffany blue for your pedi, if you're on a budget or don't see the point in spending too much on a polish, OPI Natural Origin Nail Polish in Cactus What You Preach is the next best thing.

Get wild with 3D embellishments

Sometimes what makes a pedicure isn't the color you choose, but what you do with that color. Case in point: 3D embellishments. If you're thinking back to the 3D charm nails that were trending for 2024 manicures, hold up, because that's not the type of 3D we're talking about here. "These trendy designs work great for fall," Cenita Scott exclusively tells Women.com. "3D embellishments add dimension while feeling luxurious and adds depth to mirror fall's richness." Lean into yellow and rose gold accents when creating these 3D designs and it will give an overall warmth to your pedicure.

Do a deep dive into navy

Although we've reclaimed black nails as an adult staple — hence the reason they're everywhere lately — sometimes you want to lighten things up ever so slightly. After all, if you're someone who prefers dark shades, straying from them can feel like scary uncharted waters. Because of this, embracing the navy pedicure trend is the way to go. "Dark navy blue adds depth without the harshness of pure black," explains Cenita Scott, adding that navy looks amazing with jeans. If there were ever a season for jeans, autumn is definitely it.

Take the earthy route with grounded hues

Since we are talking about fall, it only makes sense that colors with cozy energy take center stage. According to Cenita Scott, grounded hues like chocolate, caramel, and shades of green like moss and sage are going to be super on trend. "Warm chocolate hues echo the falling leaves, cozy lattes, and rich leather boots," Cenita Scott exclusively tells Women.com, adding that the greens are a reminder of trees and rustic outdoor vibes. "[Forest greens] pair effortlessly with burgundy, cream, and mustard colors," says Scott. In other words, it's time to kick the matcha and mint nail trend to the curb and go deeper with your greens this fall.

Black cherry and ox blood

In keeping with iconic rich shades that we tend to see every fall and through the winter too, black cherry and ox blood are absolutely on the menu for autumn 2025. "Reds will always be timeless and make bold statements on and off the runway," beauty expert Selina Payne-Ferebee told Who What Wear in September 2025. "It provides a timeless, elegant contrast while remaining fashion-forward." Otherwise known as vampy shades, these colors aren't just stunning, but also offer an alternative to a black pedicure. Berry Naughty by Essie is ideal polish to nail this look.

Have fun with polka dots

As we saw in 2023, yes, you can absolutely lean into the polka dot renaissance without looking too twee. This also means that you can totally embrace the polka dot pedicure trend this fall and rock the heck out of it. "Polka dots are playful yet chic, adding a lighthearted contrast to layered styles or heavier textures," Cenita Scott exclusively tells Women.com. "They can be done in bold or muted colors making them versatile for the season." If you want to warm up the look of your pedicure, add yellow or rose gold — as you would with a 3D embellishment pedi — and melt into cozy season stylishly.

Give burnt orange a chance

While traditional orange might come off as aggressive, even if it is hidden by socks and footwear, burnt orange, on the other hand, is just right. "[It] brings a surprising pop of color that's fitting for cooler weather," manicurist Lily Nguyen told Allure. "It's a shade people don't tend to reach for when it comes to their toes, but it works well in the fall." When trying to create this look at home, it's Sun Kissed by Sally Hansen that you need because it has that perfectly burnt hue, so to speak. If you want to take advantage of two trends at once, or give your pedicure a touch of low-key Halloween spookiness, add black polka dots to the equation.
