The Color Trends To Have On Your Fashion Radar For Fall 2025

Fall is traditionally a season for muted, moody shades. But this year, fashion designers are injecting vivid, playful palettes with pops of color. Candy-coated pastels are still the It color palette, but we're also embracing saturated neon tones like tangerine orange and deep purple. After several seasons of muted minimalism, self-expression is back on the fashion menu.

From acid bright shades of green to warm red tones, these shades offer opportunities to make traditional autumnal dressing your own. "These strong hues, seen across runways in everything from outerwear to accessories, offer a powerful way to bring more personality and authenticity to classic fall dressing," Jordan Stolch, a personal stylist at MiKADO, exclusively tells Women. "Introduce a pop of color through one statement piece, such as a cobalt sweater or a bright red handbag, and then balance the look with more foundational fall colors like navy, cream, and charcoal grey." Or, if you're feeling uninspired, try a monochromatic look for a winning outfit even on your laziest days.

Chocolate mousse brown

Pantone named "Mocha Mousse" as the 2025 Color of the Year. Expect this rich, nutty brown color to come into its own for fall — particularly since brown isn't a color that gets its due in spring and summer. "It's rich and luxurious without trying too hard, making it an ideal staple for any fall wardrobe," says stylist Jordan Stolch, exclusively. "Incorporate this opulent shade into foundational pieces such as boots, tailored trousers, handbags, and structured blazers to instantly add depth and sophistication to your ensemble." This neutral color is a great option for wardrobe staples you can wear for years, like a Satin Maxi Skirt or Knee-high Boot.

Powder pink

We already said bye to Barbie pink in favor of bold blue, but we're not over the color pink entirely. "While pink has enjoyed a resurgence for several years now thanks to Barbiecore, fall 2025 softens the color story with a more delicate, romantic take," says stylist Jordan Stolch. "Powder pink brings a gentle, feminine energy to the cooler months and pairs beautifully with camel, grey, and chocolate brown." Whether you're dipping a toe into the ballet core trend with a Wrap Top or simply looking to add a colorful pop with a Skinny Scarf Neckerchief, pink blends fun and sophistication.

Midnight blue

As quiet luxury and sophisticated minimalism continue to dominate style trends, fashion is looking for ways to expand the neutral palette. That's why, in addition to chocolate mousse brown, we can expect to see lots of deep navy blues this fall. "Many women don't realize that navy is typically more flattering than black, as it softens the complexion without dulling the facial features or appearing too harsh," says stylist Jordan Stolch, who says we can especially expect to see this color in pieces worn close to the face. That includes blouses, like this Dressy Short Sleeve V-Neck, and knitwear, like this Casual Chunky Crewneck.

Cherry red

Bright red is both classic and modern. That's why it's an on-trend color that can work as a large piece, like a statement Double-breasted Duster, or as the perfect finishing detail, like a Jelly Mary Jane Flat. "A great place to start is with a handbag," stylist Kenzie Welch told Business Insider. "We've been seeing so many people wearing lots of neutrals, so adding this one little pop of color can really make your outfit stand out."

Lime green

Brat green isn't going anywhere. This slime-inspired color has popped up everywhere from J. Crew to Collina Strada. Originally brought to the runway by Prada's Miucca Prada, this shade is an intentional collision of elegant and ugly. "Bad taste is part of our history, part of culture. But it's scorned in the fashion industry," Prada said of the Spring/Summer 1996 collection that featured the color. "Sometimes, fashion focuses on fixed, narrow, and limited notions of beauty, luxury, and glamour. My spring 1996 collection attempted to upend these prescribed concepts." That's why this is the perfect trendy hue to contrast with more refined, minimal fashions that are also currently trending.

Tangerine orange

A vivid orange shade like tangerine is a great way to try out indie sleaze if you missed it the first time. That's because bold, saturated colors were a key part of the style that's making a major fashion comeback. It also happens to be the color of Taylor Swift's October 2025 album, "The Life of a Showgirl," so it's safe to bet that orange is going to have a huge fall. Grab a Deep-V Neck Halter Top to pair with casual jeans or even a Casual Tiered Maxi Skirt for a head-to-toe look.

Icy blue

Icy blue is a chic color that has the restraint of pastel and the electricity of neon. Which is why it's hot this fall, whether your tastes run toward quiet luxury or indie sleaze. If you're going to wear this on-trend shade, it's a fun opportunity to add visual interest to your outfit through contrasting saturation. The LIDEALSANXUN Linen Blazer would be a fun layered contrast to a dark colored dress, or throw on this Silk Hair Scrunchie for the perfect tiny colorful detail.

Butter yellow

Another color that makes for a surprising neutral, butter trend is the on-trend color you should add to all your outfits. This soft pastel is bright without being overwhelming, which means it works great for monochromatic looks or paired with other neutrals. Sara Walker told Good Morning America she likes to add a butter yellow accessory, like this Minimalist Faux Leather Tote, to an otherwise neutral look. "This could be an all white outfit — white denim and a white T-shirt — [with] a butter yellow shoe or sweater. Even a butter yellow bag!" she said. "This same formula can be replicated with an all-brown base, gray, or even an easy pair of jeans plus a white tee. I think the key to keeping it sophisticated and chic is keep the base outfit simple and add a pop of butter yellow."
