Kelly Osbourne Looks So Different Rocking Her Natural Hair Color

Fans of Kelly Osbourne know that the reality TV star has a longstanding love of lavender, sporting the signature pastel hue as a hair color for several years. "Basically my color has become me," she told People in 2014. "The first time I dyed it and looked in the mirror, I saw myself and I felt like me." While she took styling the trendy lavender shade to the next level for a long time, the London native has since transitioned away from an all-purple look, debuting an icy hue in 2024 before transitioning to full blonde with dark roots.

The bleached color doubles as a throwback, with early childhood photos revealing that young Osbourne had light blonde hair before the shade seemingly transitioned to golden brown by the age of ten. It's been a long time since she's rocked this natural color, but the celeb's dark roots made an appearance via Instagram selfies and virtual interviews during quarantine. Though social distancing prevented her from her normal lavender maintenance, the star eventually embraced her grown-out look. "I can't lie I'm really starting to like what's happening with my hair!" she wrote in a social media caption. "It's about 20 different shades of purple and blue."

Given Osbourne's style and beauty philosophy, it's no wonder that the Hollywood figure hasn't stuck to her natural hair color over the years. In a 2014 interview with Coveter, she emphasized how fashion can serve as a source of self-expression, highlighting the evolution of her own style. "I have more fun with it because I don't care what people think, I don't follow trends," she said. "I mean, I walked around with purple hair for two years getting called a witch and now everyone's doing it."

Kelly Osbourne stayed loyal to her lavender locks and alternative style for a long time, but the 2020s have seen the "Fashion Police" star transition into a new era. In addition to trading in her signature hue, she's opted for some sleek and chic outfits and spoken about her weight loss journey. Back in 2012, Kelly shared that her mom, Sharon Osbourne, wasn't particularly a fan of her lavender hairstyle and was partial to something closer to her natural color. "She wishes I would go back to [blonde]," she told Glamour. "She'll call me, really serious, and say, 'I think it's time for a change.' I'm like, 'Mom, you have hair the color of a fire engine.'" Despite this clear preference, the Hollywood figure has emphasized that her parents have been very supportive of her style experiments even into adulthood.

Kelly shared an example of this support when promoting "There Is No F*cking Secret," her 2017 memoir. "I was having this conversation with my mum and she was saying I should get a makeover before the book comes out, and I looked at her and I said, 'But what's wrong with me?'" Kelly told The Cut. "She turned around, looked at me and said ... 'There's absolutely nothing wrong with you. You're beautiful. All I care is if you feel good and you like the way you look.'"
