Julianne Moore Is So Stunning Going Makeup Free
Julianne Moore is one of the most gorgeous women in Hollywood and she likes to take a fresh-faced approach to beauty, so it's no surprise that she looks just as stunning without makeup. Back in 2016, Moore took part in a photoshoot for the Pirelli calendar shot by famed photographer Peter Lindbergh, which had famous faces pose sans glam and Photoshop. "I walk in with no makeup on, with wet hair, and puffy eyes from waking up. He's like, 'No, you're perfect, you're beautiful.' He wants authenticity. I don't think he ever feels that anyone is not beautiful," the "May December" actor shared with Yahoo.
Moore recently showed off her flawless skin again while holding up her children's book, "Freckleface Strawberry," in an Instagram post on April 5. With just a pair of black glasses on her face and her red hair down, Moore looked happy and confident. The mom of two told "Reading Rockets" in 2012 that the inspiration behind her story was growing up and getting teased for her freckles and red hair — which eventually became the hottest hue of the summer in 2023. Moore eventually grew to accept her distinct features, saying, "I wanted to write a story about how things that loom large in childhood are less important when you grow up." Now, Moore has no problem showing off the specks on her face, and she's revealed the one thing she does to maintain her youthful glow.
Julianne Moore's skincare secret is so easy
With Julianne Moore's porcelain skin, it's easy to see that she takes good care of herself, inside and out. During makeup artist Gucci Westman's "Makeup & Friends" episode in February 2020, a fresh-faced Moore shared her secret for beautiful skin. "I stayed out of the sun. I know that's super boring, but I think that really, really makes a big difference," she said. As Westman applied foundation that nailed the no-makeup look, Moore recalled being pressured to pile on the makeup early on in her career and disliking the effects of outdated makeup trends such as overly defined brows and lips. "It took me a really, really long time to learn how to ask for less," Moore added.
When it comes to makeup these days, Moore can take it or leave it. "I think that makeup is something that you should want to wear, but you shouldn't feel like you have to. I think it's an antiquated idea, this idea that we put makeup on to cover something up, to cover up our flaws, or to look professional," she told Glamour in 2023. The "Dear Evan Hansen" star added, "If it makes you feel confident or professional, that's great. If it does not make you feel that way, then don't use it in that capacity. I think that's the most important thing."
