Kate Middleton's Favorite Beauty Products Are Royally Good

Catherine, Princess of Wales is a beauty icon – Not only does her hair consistently look gorgeous, her makeup is always stunning. Naturally, we want to know what she's using to get her flawless finish. Catherine has undergone a notable transformation as a royal. In her early days of marriage to Prince William, Catherine rocked a heavier makeup look and wore her hair in tighter curls. Now, her look is more subdued and mature, but arguably more polished. In April 2023, celebrity hairstylist Dionne Smith told the Daily Mail, "To me, it seems like Kate's hair is a reflection of her position within the family, it must be impeccable at all times in a public setting."

Speaking of Catherine's transformed beauty routine, Samantha Mercer of the hair and makeup line The Dollz, told the Daily Mail: "By changing a few things in her makeup routine she's managed to transform herself." Mercer noted that Catherine has also mastered a more simple style of makeup that's actually much more flattering and less aging than her former looks. "I'm sure everyone will agree that she looks fantastic, and her new look is much more suited to her," Mercer added. Catherine does look fantastic, from her hair to skin to makeup, so we've sourced all of her favorite products to use a princess-approved beauty regime!

Catherine's stylist shares that she uses L'Oréal Elnett Hairspray

Back in 2018, the princess' stylist, Amanda Cook Tucker posted a photo on X (formerly Twitter) of all of the products she was bringing with her to use on Catherine's hair during the royal tour of Norway and Sweden, according to the Daily Mail. The photo was very informative, and one major takeaway was that Tucker uses the classic L'Oreal Paris Elnett Hairspray to hold Catherine's signature blowout in place. It appears she isn't the only fan — The product boasts countless five star reviews across major retailers. PopSugar praised its ability to give the hair a workable hold and a shiny finish. Even better, the cult-classic hairspray is very affordable. An 11 ounce canister costs just $16.59 at Target

Catherine's favorite perfume is Jo Malone Orange Blossom

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has long been a devoted fan of the cult-favorite Jo Malone's Orange Blossom Cologne. In fact, per Vogue, she loved the scent so much that she reportedly requested that Westminster Abby be filled with lit candles of the scent on her wedding day. With its delicate combination of floral, citrus, and vanilla notes, the perfume is an ideal year-round scent that isn't too over-the-top. The scent leans on the luxurious side, with a 3.4 oz bottle ringing in at $164 from Macy's. Thankfully, there are several affordable dupes for Kate Middleton's favorite perfume, so you don't have to break the bank to smell like the royal.

Catherine's favorite nail polish is the same as Queen Elizabeth II

The late Queen Elizabeth II and Catherine, Princess of Wales, shared a taste for the same nail polish. The two royal women favored Essie's nail polish in the shade Ballet Slippers, a clear polish with a faint hint of champagne pink. As royal protocol leans towards avoiding daring color choices, like red, when it comes to polish, it makes sense that neutral colors are a mainstay among manicures. The muted tone of Ballet Slippers is ideal for this; it adds a coat of gloss without being too vivid or distracting. It's also neutral enough that it goes with everything. Pick up a standard size bottle of the classic pale pink tone for $10 a bottle at Ulta Beauty.

Catherine's favorite lip gloss is the Clarins Natural Lip Perfector

While at Wimbledon in 2019, Catherine, Princess of Wales, applied some gloss to her lips and inadvertently showed the world her go-to shade: Clarins' Natural Lip Perfector in shade Rose Shimmer. A tube of the gloss retails for $29, and promises to both hydrate lips while adding some dimension and shine. Catherine rarely wears dark lipsticks, much preferring natural looks. The Clarins Natural Lip Perfector seems right on-brand for the princess.

Catherine's go-to bronzer is the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick

When Catherine, Princess of Wales, was pregnant with Charlotte, she used Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick Highlighter in Bronze as a way to give her skin a sun-kissed glow. The warming glow powder retails for $53 from Ulta Beauty and offers a safe, sun-free alternative to mimicking a tan. Catherine uses Urban Decay's Naked eyeshadow palette

To achieve varying degrees of smokey eye, Catherine, Princess of Wales, has long turned to Urban Decay's Naked eyeshadow palette, per Us Weekly. Throughout the 2010s, the palette was a huge hit amongst makeup fans everywhere, particularly due to its range of highly pigmented neutral taupe, brown, and nude shades. However, in 2018, the company discontinued its original Naked product, per Vogue. They've since replaced the palette with the Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette (available at Ulta Beauty for $59), which features more rosy pink shades. While the upgraded versions of the eyeshadow palette are beautiful, we can't help but wonder if Catherine was as disappointed as the rest of us when the original was discontinued. It remains unconfirmed whether she still uses Urban Decay eyeshadow.
