Instagram just released a new way to share stories with friends. You can now send an Instagram story of someone you follow to other users as a direct message. This leaves a lot of Instagram users wondering: How To Turn Off Instagram Direct Story Sharing?

If you prefer to turn off the ability for others to share your story in Direct, you can always disable the option in your stories settings. And if you have a Private Account, only your followers can view your story in Direct."
How To Disable The Direct Story Sharing Option On Your Instagram Account:
- Tap the settings icon in the upper left-hand corner of the camera screen
- Go to your Story settings to change up sharing permissions.
- Toggle "Story Sharing" off and you're all set!
