Café Owner Gives A Homeless Man A Shot And Is Repaid In A Life Lesson
"God gave me this blessing so why can't I bless others?"
In March 2016, a homeless man wandered into Abi's Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was asking the owner, Cesia Abigail Baires, for a few bucks.
"Why don't you have a job?" Cesia asked. "You know nothing is given to me for free, right?"
The homeless man, Marcus, proceeded to explain to Cesia that while he would love nothing more than a job, his history of felonies made it nearly impossible to convince employers to hire him. To stay alive, Marcus was forced to turn to stealing and panhandling.
But instead of giving Marcus a couple of dollars or flat out turning him away, Cesia decided to do something so incredible that her story went massively viral…
Cesia's small restaurant in Minneapolis had been struggling to stay afloat. When Marcus walked in, Cesia felt an instant connection with him.
"You want a job? Then I have one for you," Abigail told him.
With a big grin, the man gladly accepted the woman's offer: "I will do anything for food."
When Abi offered him a sandwich, Marcus' instant reaction was not to greedily eat it, but to bring half of it out to another homeless woman on the street. Abi explains how touching this entire interaction was, and how after showing up every day to help out for two weeks, Abi has offered Marcus a permanent position.

"A lot of people are saying I've been a blessing for him, but at that point I was the one who needed a blessing," Abigail told CBS News.
