All you have to do is get on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or any other online bookseller and you'll see that biker romance novels are everywhere. The romance subgenre has exploded over the last decade plus, giving readers hundreds of dark books about bad boy bikers in motorcycle clubs.
Erin Fry, a spokesperson for the Romance Writers of America, says TV shows like Sons of Anarchy have a lot to do with the increase biker romance novels. "Often romance novels reflect popular culture, so it’s not surprising to me that romances with motorcycle heroes/heroines are popular." Many authors have cited the show as inspiration for their own biker romances.
Bad boys have long been popular in romance, so it isn't surprising that biker romances have really caught on. When they're not nice guys at the beginning of a book, it gives them a lot of room for character growth by the end of the book.
