About Sashee Chandran

Sashee Chandran is the founder and CEO of Tea Drops. Being born to a Chinese mother and Sri Lankan father (who was actually born on a tea estate), Sashee grew up with a strong love and appreciation for tea, witnessing firsthand the traditions and rituals of tea that bring people together.

Before founding Tea Drops, Sashee worked in Silicon Valley leading digital marketing and market research campaigns for Fortune 100 brands. It was Sashee's own tea drinking that inspired her to rethink the way we consume tea. She was looking for an environmentally friendly, convenient, yet high-quality tea experience that simply didn’t exist, so she decided to create it herself.

Two years later, she patented the Tea Drops process and products were hitting the market!

About Tea Drops

Tea Drops are organic whole leaf teas shaped into fun drops that melt into finely ground plant fiber. By making an assortment of bagless, organic, whole leaf teas, Tea Drops sheds 15% less waste than traditional tea bags.

Tea Drops has become a favorite among new and experienced tea drinkers alike and is proud to support a female-forward supply chain, fair-trade & organic harvesting. With every box of tea sold, Tea Drops donates a year’s supply of clean water through the Thirst Project.

After hitting the market, Tea Drops have been making #TEAMAGIC ever since. They've been featured on platforms like Forbes, Good Morning America, the Oprah Magazine, and are loved by various celebrities like Chrissy Teigen, Tory Burch, and Michelle Obama. Tea Drops was also named one of Shopify's fastest-growing DTC websites in 2020.

Tea Drops are available in over 2,000 retail stores nationwide, and you can also purchase them on their website at www.myteadrop.com!
