"If you like pina coladas, and getting _____"
Unless you've been living under a rock, chances are you've heard the catchy hit song Escape by Rupert Holmes, better knows at The Pina Colada Song. Before this song became a hit, there weren't many places you could get a pina colada in the US. After, you could get pina coladas just about anywhere fruity drinks were served. The song has been used or referred to in many movies and TV shows. Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate sing along to it in the 2002 movie The Sweetest Thing, and Homer Simpsons sings some of it in the "Sunday, Cruddy Sunday" episode of The Simpsons. In the 2008 Angelina Jolie movie Wanted, the song plays when she drives off from a daring escape. Nadine Sutherland sings it and Angela Bassett danced to "Pina Colada" in the 1998 film How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman sing it together in the 2005 film Bewitched. Jack Johnson recorded a version of this song that appears in the 2013 movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Over forty years ago, one of the most memorable personals ads of all time was unleashed as a pop song that had everybody writing about long walks on the beach long after. Rupert Holmes' "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" shot to No. 1 in 1979, and it remains a popular pick on movie soundtracks, even today. But just how well can you remember all the lyrics? Think you can remember every note of this decades-old hit? If it helps, put the blender away for now to keep you from mixing things up on this quiz!
