Model and actor Pamela Anderson is embracing a more natural kind of beauty these days. The former "Baywatch" star has largely ditched makeup and spends lots of time in her garden. Anderson has even undergone a major hair transformation through the years, swapping her bombshell blowout for a soft, textured lob. But while she might be a fan of "barely there" makeup, she isn't afraid of a bold nail. In an Instagram reel, Anderson shared snippets of her life during the fall and revealed that her short nails are painted a cheerful shade of red.
The classic color, which looks to a be a shade like OPI Classic Nail Polish in Big Apple Red, feels like a sweet nod to the season. Plenty of people opt for deeper shades of red — or even burgundy, brown, or black — as the leaves start to change. Anderson's nails prove that red nails are always on trend. "A clean red manicure is timeless because it's powerful, but understated at the same time," nail artist Jessica White told Harper's Bazaar. "It doesn't need embellishment — it's a statement on its own."
Pamela Anderson is in a whole new beauty era
Even though Pamela Anderson is embracing a warmer color on her fingernails, the short "squoval" shape feels in line with the pared-back beauty looks that she has been embracing in her 50s. Short nails are also far more practical for her lifestyle, considering Anderson is among the celebrities proving gardening is the chicest hobby. "It's funny because, you know, I'm always in the garden now," she told ET Online. "I always have dirt under my nails."
In fact, Anderson chalks much of her new beauty look up to the new phase of her life. "I've done big make-up looks, I've done big clothing looks, hair, big fuzzy hats, corsets, rock stars," she told Vogue Australia. "I feel like I've had the big romantic life. I've had a lot of wildness. And I've found that, right now, for me, just being in nature and being myself is a wild move." Her updated take on beauty has moved many to follow in her footsteps. Anderson even inspired Drew Barrymore to ditch her hair extensions. So it makes sense "The Last Showgirl" star has gotten on board with the short nail trend.
