Hallmark Christmas Movies Picked For Your Zodiac Sign
Love them or hate them, it's hard to resist indulging in a Hallmark Christmas movie during the most wonderful time of the year. They're familiar, cozy, and packed with festive cheer. They're also perfect for unwinding with after a busy day of Christmas shopping, seeing friends and family, or generally decking the halls. But with hundreds of holiday movies in Hallmark's portfolio (that's not even counting the Hallmark movies perfect for a lazy fall afternoon), finding the right one for you without spending hours trawling through Hallmark+'s library is about as easy as wrapping a bicycle and sneaking it under the Christmas tree without your kids noticing. So, this year (to save us from tears), just like the three wise men in the nativity story, we're turning to the stars for guidance. Instead of relying on the Star of Bethlehem though, it's the zodiac signs we're turning to for a little inspiration
We've scoured decades of Hallmark Christmas movies, from classics to newbies, to determine which one is perfect for you according to your zodiac sign. But don't worry if you don't fall under one of the zodiac signs that are true romantic at heart, because not all of our picks rely on classic romantic Hallmark movie tropes that have their fair share of red flags. Before you read on though, just know that some of our descriptions may contain minor spoilers.
Aquarius: The Christmas Choir
Aquarius people tend to be determined humanitarians (Yara Shahidi, Oprah Winfrey, and Kerry Washington are all famous Acquarians) who thrive when they're fighting for an important cause. If that sounds like you too, you're sure to get that festive fuzzy feeling from "The Christmas Choir." The 2008 movie centers on a successful accountant named Peter who has lost his way in life. He decides to give back by volunteering at a homeless shelter and soon falls in love with a choir of down on their luck people who have started singing there. After taking the reigns, he gains a new perspective and lease on life by transforming the small choir into a worldwide phenomenon.
This star sign is also famous for having a strong sense of originality. In a sea of more predictable Hallmark Holiday movies that follow the classic girl meets boy in a small town at Christmas trope, this offering stands out for its heart and authenticity, as it's based on a true story. You'll also notice a couple of famous faces in "The Christmas Choir," as it stars "Murder One"'s Jason Gedrick as Peter and "Cheers"' star Rhea Perlman. Aquarians are sure to get that warm glow from watching Peter's touching humanitarian efforts and if you're looking for more after the credits roll, check out these books that were adapted into Hallmark movies and TV shows.
Pisces: Christmas Song
2012's "Christmas Song" is sure to be music to the ears of compassionate and music-loving Pisceans. Following a merger between two formerly rival high schools, music teachers Diana and Ken develop a frosty relationship after discovering there's only one musical director role up for grabs. To determine who gets it, the two compete in an "American Idol" meets "Glee"-esque song competition. Those born under the water sign Pisces, which is known for its dreaminess, are sure to love this holiday movie's musical elements (which will help them escape reality), as well as its vibrant, festive elements.
Making this movie, starring Natasha Henstridge and Gabriel Hogan, even more perfect for Pisceans? It's a love story. This water sign is deeply romantic, so Pisces people will surely find themselves gripped from the first note as Diana and Ken's initial contempt for one another transforms into something sweet.
Aries: Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story
If you know an Aries, you're probably familiar with their love of sports, physical challenges, and activity. 2025's NFL-centered "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story" sees all that entwined with romance. We meet doctor Morgan and the Buffalo Bills' vice president of stadium development Gabe, who are lifelong friends and Buffalo Bills fans. When Morgan discovers that her family was helped out financially by a mysterious stranger several decades ago (who still sends a Christmas gift every year), she decides to find out who the person is and properly thank them for their generosity. Gabe agrees to join Morgan on her quest and even uses his links to the Buffalo Bills to help out along the way. Before long, sparks fly between the longtime friends.
Starring "Teen Wolf" actor Holland Roden and "Shadowhunters" star Matthew Daddario, this light movie will resonate with Aries' innately positive attitude. Morgan needs plenty of optimism to make her Christmas mission come true, and there's no better time than the holidays to believe in miracles. Even better, the movie has a deliciously happy ending that ties things up in a neat Christmas-appropriate bow, which is sure to please this enthusiastic fire sign who are all about finding solutions to their problems.
Taurus: A Gingerbread Romance
"A Gingerbread Romance"'s mix of baking and love is a sure-fire hit for Taureans, who have a natural penchant for food and sensuality. The 2018 movie starring Tia Mowry of "Sister Sister" fame and "The Dark Knight Rises" actor Duane Henry sees Mowry's Taylor enter a life-size gingerbread house making competition in the hopes of landing a big promotion. After her initial baking partner pulls out though, she enlists the help of the handsome small town baker Adam (played by Henry). But as the two start baking up a storm, they serve up a healthy dollop of chemistry as well as gingerbread houses.
Where Taureans may relate to the movie is in Taylor's desires. She has never had a steady home base but seemingly longs for one; Taurus famously thrives on having a reliable, stable domestic life. As she opens up to Adam and grows close to his daughter, career-driven Taylor starts to learn more about what she really wants out of life. This loving story about family is sure to offer this earth sign that warm, fuzzy feeling during the holiday season.
Gemini: Switched for Christmas
Gemini is often defined by the idea of being two halves of the same person, so a film about twins trying to figure out how they work into each other's is just right for the season. In "Switched for Christmas," "Full House" star Candace Cameron Bure (who's had quite the transformation since her child star days) plays identical sisters Kate and Chris. One year after the death of their mom, the two are estranged but agree to break bread over a Christmas dinner a few days before the big day. As they learn more about one another and what they've been up to over the past 12 months, they start to suspect they may be happier living each other's lives. To find out, they agree to live as one another until Christmas Day.
Geminis are highly likely to relate to Kate and Chris being forever linked despite living very different lives. Those who fall under this affectionate air sign are also sure to appreciate the holiday offering's romantic elements; this zodiac sign isn't traditionally keen on being alone. The sign's natural adaptability means they won't be shocked by this 2017 cozy tale's twists and turns. Don't forget to check out these romance books that have the same vibes as Hallmark movies when you're done.
Cancer: My Christmas Family Tree
Those who embody the Cancer sign value family and home life, so the deep roots in Hallmark's "My Christmas Family Tree" may just see this sign to shed a sentimental tear. The 2021 movie stars "Friday Night Lights" star Aimeé Teegarden. Teegarden plays Vanessa, a woman who is shocked to discover she has several long-lost family members she never knew about. She soon becomes determined to meet her relatives and create the close-knit family she's always craved, and decides to visit them over the Christmas period.
Not only does this water sign hold family life dear to their heart, Cancerians are incredibly loyal and tend to let their heart lead the way when making big decisions. That's why Vanessa's risky plight to meet and bond with her family, particularly over the holidays, is sure to resonate with this deeply emotional zodiac. Equally, Cancarians can be innately pessimistic, but this touching story with an uplifting ending may just help this sign feel a little more optimistic.
Leo: A Make or Break Holiday
Leo's are a passionate fire sign. They value the opinions of others and love to be admired, but this feisty zodiac sign will get a taste of what putting too much onus on outward appearances can do by watching 2025's "A Make or Break Holiday." We meet Liv and Daniel, played by familiar Hallmark face Hunter King and TV movie regular Evan Roderick, a couple who decide to host Christmas for their relatives. When the pressures of the season get to them, they decide to break up and spend the holidays apart. The problem is they can't bring themselves to tell their families.
Rather than face up to reality, the two invite their nearest and dearest over anyway. That means spending the entire festive season acting like they never broke up. Leos can struggle to face up to difficult situations and enjoy being admired by others, which makes them highly likely to relate to Liv and Daniel's predicament. Leos are traditionally cheerful and funny too, and, despite this movie centering on a breakup, it still has light-hearted holiday cheer and humor in spades.
Virgo: A Christmas Wedding Tail
Virgos are notoriously loyal animal lovers, so what could be better for the festive season than a Christmas movie centered around two loved-up dogs? In 2011's "A Christmas Wedding Tail," a Labrador named Rusty falls in love with a poodle named Cheri following a chance encounter at the park. But, in order for them to be together, they need to get their owners to fall in love too. And so, the pooches hatch a plan to get sparks to fly — and it works! However, they soon realize the reality of being together may not be like they dreamed. When the two households combine, the dogs find themselves in a chaotic dynamic (including living with five children) and soon find the fate of their messy new family life is all in their paws.
In addition to the Hallmark offering keeping Virgos entertained with the animals they love so much, it also taps into this zodiac's tendency to be well-organized and deeply practical. Virgos are likely to relate to Rusty and Cheri's decision to make big moves to ensure they can spend their lives together. "90210" actor Jennie Garth stars alongside Brad Rowe as the dog parents in this fun, holiday romp.
Libra: A Keller Christmas Vacation
Libras famously love soaking in the sights and sounds of beautiful locales. That's all entwined into the festive offering "A Keller Christmas Vacation," which sees the Keller family (parents Anne and Ben and grown-up children Cal, Dylan, and Emory) enjoy a luxury cruise around Europe. The journey takes them to some of the best Christmas markets across the likes of Germany and Austria, but their extended time together in close quarters also forces out some unexpected personal truths.
Libras are also peacemakers who crave harmony in relationships, so they're likely to relate to the close-knit family opening up to one another about their trials and tribulations. The notoriously social side of the air sign will also be fed by watching this movie, as the characters meet several friendly and helpful folks along their journey through Europe. Finally, there are a handful of famous faces to keep Libras interested too, as the trio of siblings is played by "Mean Girls"' actor Jonathan Bennett, "Superman Returns" star Brandon Routh, and "The Middle" actor Eden Sher.
Scorpio: Farewell Mr. Kringle
"Farewell Mr. Kringle" will quench the Scorpio thirst for truth, while also making them question its importance. This water sign is brave and passionate, especially in the search for honesty, as Scorpios thrive when stating facts and proving themselves right. In this Hallmark movie from 2010, "Zoolander" and "Dodgeball" star Christine Taylor plays a journalist named Anna who has given up on Christmas after losing her husband around the holiday. She's tasked with covering the retirement of a man (played by William Morgan Sheppard) from the small town of Mistletoe who has served as the local Santa Claus for 50 years. Though she's understandably skeptical of his bold claims, she soon finds herself enchanted by the small town Santa and realizes that the joy he's bringing to those around him may be more important than if he's telling the truth.
Throughout the festive movie, Anna also develops a close bond with former "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" actor Christopher Wiehl's character Mark, who helps her open up to the Christmas spirit. Though you'll need luck on your side if you want this zodiac sign to show you affection, that doesn't mean Scorpios shy away from love. The water sign is deeply passionate and craves intimacy with a partner, which means the romantic element of this holiday story will also be very much up this sign's alley.
Sagittarius: Christmas Getaway
Sagittarius people crave freedom and have an innate, deep desire to explore the world. That's why they're likely to relate to Bridget Regan's Emory in the 2017 movie "Christmas Getaway." Emory is a travel writer (a dream job for many Sagittarians) who spends most of her life away from home. But after her boyfriend breaks up with her, she decides that for the first time in her adult life, she wants to enjoy a more traditional Christmas somewhere snowy. When she arrives to her destination, she finds there's been a major mix up that forces her to spend the holidays with an attorney named Scott (played by Travis Van Winkle) who's booked the same accommodation. Also along for the ride? His mom and daughter. Awkward.
Despite being disgruntled at first, Emory eventually grows closer to the family. She then realizes that maybe staying in one place for a while isn't so bad, or constraining, after all. This Hallmark movie is sure to get those who fall under this fire sign contemplating the very notion of freedom and independence.
Capricorn: Three Wisest Men
Amongst the Capricorn's biggest likes? Family and tradition. So a Hallmark movie about a sudden break in family holiday customs is sure to resonate with this often unforgiving earth sign. In "Three Wisest Men," a threequel to "Three Wise Men and a Baby" and "Three Wiser Man and a Boy," the three Brenner boys are devastated when they learn their mom is selling their childhood home. The (somewhat) good news? They get one last Christmas in the home they treasure so dearly. Determined to make the holiday one to remember, the trio set about trying to make everything perfect. But that's far easier said than done, as chaos comes in the form of invites to their in-laws and a few too many animals.
Starring Paul Campbell, Tyler Hynes, and Andrew Walker, who all appeared in the original movies, the 2025 comedy drama taps into the Capricorn's deep love for family traditions and the repercussions of them being threatened. As people born under this sign tend to be practical and responsible, they're also sure to get a laugh out of the Brenner family and their attempts to prepare for Christmas that often go awry.
