How we ranked Goodreads' top 15 reader-recommended audiobooks of 2026 (so far)

To make it onto this list, each audiobook first had to be featured on Goodreads' collection of Reader-Approved Audiobooks for Every Bookish Mood, which was published in August 2026 and included audiobooks based on Audible charts and Audie Awards. We only included audiobooks with at least 10,000 ratings to ensure they'd been read and thoroughly reviewed by a wide array of Goodreads users.

We then ranked the top 15 based on their Goodreads score out of 5 stars at the time writing. If more than one book had the same rating, the audiobook with more ratings took the higher position. We also considered what Goodreads users said about each audiobook in their reviews, primarily focusing on their comments about the audiobook version over the physical book.
