Christina Haack's Outfits On HGTV Didn't Always Hit The Mark

Although Christina Haack hasn't always hit it out of the park with her outfits, she has always been a talent. The real estate agent and designer became famous thanks to her HGTV show "Flip or Flop," where she and then-husband Tarek El Moussa flipped houses in California and resold them for a profit. The show first aired in April 2013, captivating viewers with their savvy renovations and ability to transform dilapidated houses into stylish homes. But part of the show's appeal was Haack herself; the blond bombshell stole the show thanks to her charm and beauty. Watching her was almost as fun as watching the house flips.

But like anyone who enjoys experimenting with fashion, Haack occasionally stepped out in misses. While Haack has undergone a stunning transformation since her HGTV debut, it was an evolution marked by a few setbacks. Sometimes the problem was that Haack showed up at a build site looking like she was ready for the red carpet; while that diva energy is always laudable, the outfits didn't make sense in their context. In other moments, the outfit just didn't flatter the otherwise beautiful Haack. Whether they were outdated or aging, the clothing just didn't always make her sing. From shortening ankle booties to sloppy athletic wear, these pieces didn't do Haack justice. While Haack could usually make it work, she's accumulated a list of fashion flops throughout her long HGTV career.

On the big day, when renovations were done and prospective buyers toured the newly renovated house, Haack showed up in a lilac mini dress with thigh-high boots. While everything about the outfit was adorable, Haack made one surprising mistake — she wore a bright blue bra that peeked through the sheer panelling on the top of the dress. She would have been better off wearing a nude or strapless bra to avoid this messy detail. 

Christina Haack had a signature style on HGTV. While walking through construction zones, the blond babe typically favored jeans and a top — perhaps for the practical appeal. Sometimes these were plaid tops and sometimes they were tank tops, but this was her typical uniform. Unfortunately, Haack consistently leaned on very distressed skinny jeans as the base of her formula. While there are ways to style skinny jeans so they don't look so outdated, the distressed detail in Haack's denim meant that her outfits didn't have a clean silhouette.

First, there were the shredded skinny jeans. Then she paired a blue and white striped athletic sweater with a large statement pendulum necklace. Statement necklaces were very popular around 2010, but considering "Flip or Flop" first aired in 2013 and went on for 10 seasons, the look had long since expired. And the necklace clashed with the athletic sweater. 

Christina Haack is typically as stunning as her houses are tasteful, but she's had flops here and there and some of Haack's most outdated outfits are hard to ignore. One fashion miss occurred on an episode of "Flip or Flop," where Haack paired cropped black skinny jeans with ankle booties. One of the reasons why ankle boots tend to drift out of fashion is because they're so tough to style. In Haack's case, the glaring ankle line shortened her legs. Taller boots would have been more flattering.

Worse still, she paired the unfortunate top with yet another pair of distressed skinny jeans. It just didn't work.

The vest was perfectly nice, but the style was suitable for winter. Haack wore it with a tank top and so the heavy vest seemed out of place, since the faux fur vest would have made more sense with a long-sleeved top underneath. Furthermore, everyone else in the scene was wearing short sleeves, so it's likely that the weather was warm.

Since Haack has such an athletic frame, slim-fitting tops are the most flattering on her. This wide shirt threw her silhouette off balance, and it wasn't her best look. Plus, there was the recurrence of those shredded skinny jeans with ankle booties, cutting off the length of Haack's legs.
