Rosie O'Donnell Brought A Personal Flair To Her Mother-Of-The-Groom Style

When it comes to fashion, the first person on your mind would probably not be Rosie O'Donnell. Although O'Donnell has had a complete Hollywood transformation, the noted comedian is known more for being an accomplished talk show host while delivering whip-sharp quips. But it appears she also knows a thing or two about dressing herself for a wedding, especially her youngest son's wedding. Blake O'Donnell got married in August 2024 and Rosie made sure she was dressed in her best for the occasion.

Instead of a typical dress, O'Donnell opted for a sharp suit, as seen in the image above, that she posted to her Instagram account. The custom made suit was champagne-colored, with floral motifs adorning both the blazer and pants. She wore a pair of white Oxford shoes, keeping her graying hair in a short neat cut. Not only is the outfit ideal and comfortable, it also serves as the perfect alternative to a dress for older women. O'Donnell definitely rocked this look to a T, looking stunning as she and her son shared a wholesome mother-son dance to Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time."

Rosie O'Donnell often favors suits over dresses

Rosie O'Donnell has always possessed a particular sense of style, one she carries to this day. Many of her red carpet appearances have seen O'Donnell wear a suit or a blazer, shirt, and pantsuit combo, so clearly she has been building up her personal style and that was reflected in what she wore to her son's wedding. But on the rare occasion that she did decide to don a dress on a segment of "The View" in 2015, the former "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" host believes that one time out of her comfort zone is more than enough.

"She said, 'Did you feel sexy in that dress?' And I said, 'No, but I felt everyone else thought that I looked sexy and that made me uncomfortable,'" O'Donnell recounted, per E! News. While Rosie O'Donnell calls being in her 60s 'glorious', she has publicly shared in the past how self-conscious she was about her weight and body image, which contributes to why she steers clear of dresses. But it's admirable that she prioritizes her comfort over anything else, which is why O'Donnell's mother-of-the-groom style was so unique and entirely her own.
