Dear Pale Reader, have you ever found what you thought was the perfect pedicure shade, just to have it look like a totally different color on your toes than in the bottle? Have you tried rocking the latest pedicure trend only for it to give you Morticia Addams feet (and not in a good way)? Well, struggle no more. The search for the best pedicure colors for pale skin is over, because we've got the lowdown on the shades that will complement your skin tone for every occasion and season.

Maryna Slynko, international judge, award-winning nail educator, and founder of Slynko Beauty Bloom Studio in Overland Park, Kansas, suggests fair-skinned stunners should all but ignore summer 2026 pedicure trends and think more carefully. "I always recommend looking beyond the color itself and considering three key factors: the skin's undertone, the level of contrast you want to create, and the color's saturation," she tells Women, exclusively. "A well-matched undertone enhances the skin's natural beauty, while the wrong one can make the skin look dull or washed out," she notes. To take some away some of the guesswork, we spoke exclusively to Slynko and fellow experts Sofiia Mazur (educator, international championship judge and world champion nail artist in Calgary, Alberta) and Svitlana Motyl (nail artist, competition winner, international competition judge, educator, and co-founder of Artme Nails Studio Chicago, Illinois), to break down the most flattering pale skin pedicure shades and explain why they work.

Classic cherry red offers balanced contrast

Both Sofiia Mazur and Svitlana Motyl love classic cherry red for pale skin. "It creates contrast without looking too harsh or 'overdone,'" Mazur explains about the hue — not as dark as burgundy, and not as bright as fire engine red. "It instantly makes the feet look brighter and gives the skin a healthier, vibrant appearance," she adds. Mazur and Motyl also highlight the rich shade's versatility, which is ideal if you prefer long-lasting gel pedis that can work across seasons and events. "It's timeless, elegant, and works year-round," Motyl exclusively confirms. Try Not Red-y For Bed from Essie or Sally Hansen Insta-Dri 390 That's A-Blazing.

Soft cherry red is transitional and understated

Love the idea of red but want something a little less vibrant? Maryna Slynko suggests a softer cherry red. "[This] adds warmth and vitality to fair skin," she exclusively tells us. "Compared to a bright classic red, a softer cherry tone feels more sophisticated while still providing a beautiful pop of color. It's timeless [and] elegant," she adds. The more muted take on cherry red is a staple fall/winter shade as well, and will contrast less with your skin tone. Get the look with Essie's Forever Yummy or OPI's Amore at the Grand Canal.

Refined nude makes for effortless styling

Maryna Slynko recommends a refined nude if you like minimalist, understated pedicures. "Think a warm beige nude with a subtle pink undertone," Slynko exclusively tells Women. "[It] blends beautifully with fair skin, creating a natural, effortless look," she adds. Because this shade is so refined and similar to a fair skin tone, you won't have to worry about it clashing with your outfits. That makes it uber-versatile and ideal for any occasion or season when your toes will be on show with several different looks. Give Essie's Topless and Barefoot or OPI's Bare My Soul a try.

Icy chrome pink is ultra-dimensional

Love a delicate pink with a little shine? Icy chrome pink is for you. "The subtle reflective effect catches the light beautifully, adding freshness and dimension while complementing fair skin without overpowering it," Maryna Slynko exclusively shares. MIZHSE's Pear Pink is feminine, delicate, and will look especially gorgeous alongside silver toe rings, as will I Meta My Soulmate from OPI. Though icy shades are usually considered winter hues, the shine allows this subtle color to work all year long.

Milky peach is beachy and elegant

Looking for more color on your toes? Sofiia Mazur recommends a milky peach hue. "A soft, creamy peach adds warmth to fair complexions, especially if the skin has cool or neutral undertones," she tells us, exclusively. She notes that this shade can give the feet a sun-kissed look, so it's ideal for summer or a sunny vacation. "It feels clean and elegant, making it perfect for someone who prefers more of a natural pedicure!" she adds. Boots in Barcelona from OPI offers a super shiny finish, while Essie's Peach Side Babe has a little more color.

Deep berry is perfect for fall

If you've avoided dark shades on your toes for fear of looking washed out, try a deep berry. "The depth of the color creates subtle contrast while the red undertones keep it lively. It gives a polished, luxurious look," Sofiia Mazur exclusively shares. She also notes the rich hue is ideal for heading into fall, because it's a fun way to make the seasonal transition to darker toenails with a light complexion. Avoid going too dark, and instead reach for colors like Essie's Berry Naughty or Nails Inc's Berry Jam Packed.

Cool-toned lavender creates soft sophistication

Not only was lavender one of the hottest nail color trends of 2025, but a cool-tone version is especially flattering against pale skin — especially if you love delicate, feminine shades. "It complements cool undertones while adding a subtle pop of color," Sofiia Mazur explains. "It feels soft and sophisticated, and it creates enough contrast to make the pedicure noticeable without being too bold," she adds, recommending the shade for spring and summer when we tend to gravitate toward lighter pastel hues. Reach for Nails Inc's Hailey or China Glaze's Pastel Lavender Purple.

Milky white is a spin on a modern classic

It's a myth that pale-skinned beauties should avoid white nail polish; just keep it soft and milky (think off-white). "[It] gives pale skin a fresh, clean look. Unlike a stark bright white, a milky tone feels softer and more sophisticated while enhancing the natural delicacy of fair complexions," says Svitlana Motyl, exclusively. Motyl particularly recommends this shade for spring and summer to achieve a bright take on a modern classic. Cosmoo's Milky White will help you avoid an unflattering and harsh white pedi, as will Beetles' Milky White gel polish.

Choose soft coral for a healthy look

It's no secret that coral is a nail color that will make you look tanner, but if that's the look you want and you have pale skin, keep the summery hue soft. An overly bright coral will create too much contrast, but Svitlana Motyl exclusively tells us that a softer, muted take will give fair feet a healthy look. "Because it combines pink and orange undertones, it gives the feet a sun-kissed appearance without overpowering the complexion," she says. China Glaze's Pink OranKeratinge comes with a slight sparkle, while ILNP's Sunny Days is a flat, rich color.

Dusty rose is perfect year-round

If an understated pedicure with a hint of color is more your vibe, you can't go wrong with dusty rose (think muted, cool-toned pink). "It complements cool and neutral undertones beautifully and creates an elegant, polished finish that never goes out of style," Svitlana Motyl shares. Because it's so discreet and minimalist, it can be worn year-round and paired with a range of shoe types, from formal heels to casual, comfy sandals. OPI's (P) Ink on Canvas and L.A. Color's Dusty Rose will have you covered no matter the event or season.
