Jennifer Connelly Is The Perfect Style Inspo For Taking Fashion Risks In Your 50s
With her beginnings as a model, it's no wonder that Jennifer Connelly has never been caught dead in a fashion faux pas. But rather than slow down her style ambitions as she enters her 50s, Connelly has ramped things up instead. Similar to how Jane Fonda is the ultimate style inspo for wearing heels in her 80s, the "Labyrinth" star doesn't factor in age when taking fashion risks. Her Instagram page is a testament to that, showing that her fashion instincts have grown stronger with age as she experiments with pairing different items and fabrics.
In an Instagram post she made in May 2026 (as seen in the image above), the actor posted a series of pictures after attending a Louis Vuitton event, where Connelly clearly stunned in an unconventional yet stylish ensemble. She wore an oversized fuzzy tartan sweater that showed her midriff, with a short pencil skirt featuring a colorful image on the front that highlighted her long legs. The entire outfit, down to the handbag, was part of the Louis Vuitton Fall 2026 collection and showed Connelly's ability to turn anything into a fashion statement.

But the aforementioned Louis Vuitton event wasn't the only risky fashion moment Connelly managed to pull off. The Oscar winner chose another out-of-the-box look for the Louis Vuitton X W Magazine Awards Season dinner. Connelly stepped out in a short, high-collar minidress that looked straight out of an English garden, with flower and leaf motifs all over the fabric. She paired the floral number with black ankle boots with a kitten heel and a boxy leather handbag. Connelly kept her trademark long hair down, while highlighting one of the most flattering haircuts for women over 50.
Although Connelly evidently likes to explore different shapes, textures, and designers, she revealed that she ultimately falls back to a simple, classic choice that's always proven to be reliable. In an exclusive, rapid-fire interview with Marie Claire, the "Requiem for a Dream" star showed her love for the little black dress. "You can just fold it up and throw it in your bag. It always works," Connelly candidly shares with the publication.
