Alyson Hannigan And Alexis Denisof's Marriage Is Chock Full Of Green Flags
Similar to how Bridget Moynahan's decade-long marriage to Andrew Frankel is full of green flags, Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof appear to be one of the odd ones out when it comes to celebrity marriages. The couple has been married for more than two decades, having tied the knot in 2003. Hannigan and Denisof are both alums of the iconic TV show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and as soon as they met on set, there was an undeniable attraction. It didn't take long for the pair to decide to make it official, and years later, it appears their marriage is as strong as ever with these green flags.
The couple has two daughters, and Hannigan has shared how grateful she is to have Denisof as the father to her girls. "Alexis is an amazing father, he really is," Hannigan shared with People. A year after their second daughter was born, the two underwent a vow renewal ceremony in Hawaii in 2013. Denisof pulled out all the stops by buying Hannigan another ring, but the green flags didn't stop there. Not only did Hannigan post this wholesome Instagram post for their 20th wedding anniversary in 2023, but she only has positive things to say about her husband, particularly in supporting her business ventures. "He's been so supportive, and I'm not surprised, but I'm super appreciative," the "How I Met Your Mother" star told People. "He is that guy."
Alexis Denisof and Alyson Hannigan's relationship almost didn't happen
Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof's happily-ever-after nearly did not happen. Although there was chemistry between the pair when they first met, Denisof actually rejected Hannigan at first. "I was trying to pursue him, but he said he didn't want to date somebody he was working with," Hannigan exclusively shared with The Sun, per The Mirror. The "American Pie" star had no hard feelings after that and, in fact, embarked on another romance with another person. But things were different once Hannigan broke up with her then-beau, as Denisof became open to the thought of a relationship.
The couple officially started dating in 1999, but during that time, Hannigan was also taking her mom's advice to heart. While the talented actor wanted marriage, she knew she wasn't going to just leap into it at a moment's notice. "My mom, Emilie, always taught me to think hard about marriage ... she said: 'Take your time,'" she exclusively told The Sun, per People, "I took my mom's advice and thought really hard about the whole thing — and didn't marry until I was nearly 30." And it seemed to be advice worth its weight in gold, as we're sure they will be one of the celeb marriages that will stand the test of time.
