Similar to how these reality TV marriages are actually relationship goals, Ressler and Gertz have been married since 1989, making it almost four decades of life together. The couple shares three sons together and has supported each other's career moves, one that has paid dividends. In fact, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that the pair is the definition of the 'American Dream'. 

Ressler is an extremely successful businessman, co-founder of private equity firms Apollo Global Management and Ares Management. These business ventures have netted him a staggering net worth of over $11 billion, in Forbes' estimation. Gertz herself isn't content to rest on her husband's laurels alone, having built a successful career as an actor, starring in hit films such as "Twister" and "Less Than Zero". It's amazing to see how far the pair have come since tying the knot in 1989, and these sweet pics of the couple throughout the years have cemented why we think they're one of the celeb marriages that will stand the test of time. 

This picture was snapped in November 1989 during the film premiere of "Back to the Future Part II" in California, not long after the couple walked down the aisle and made it official. And it's clear the honeymoon vibes were still in the air, as neither Tony Ressler nor Jami Gertz could hardly leave each other's side. 

They were all smiles throughout the night, too, with Ressler looking smart in his suit and Gertz matching him with a floral, button-up collared shirt largely hidden under an oversized black coat. 

Before Jami Gertz transitioned into becoming a high-flying – though notoriously camera-shy – socialite, she was very much running the Hollywood scene in the late '80s and '90s. At this point in time, Ressler had just founded Apollo Global Management the year before, and the firm wasn't yet the behemoth it would later become. 

"I made more money – way more money – than Tony when I met him," Gertz confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. It didn't seem to bother Ressler much either, as seen in this picture, as he accompanies his wife to yet another film premiere in 1991. And that's a green flag if we've ever seen one.

Instead of the glitz and glam you'd expect to see on any Hollywood red-carpet film premiere, Tony Ressler and Jami Gertz chose to keep it cute and casual. Ressler still cleaned up nicely in a crisp suit jacket, wearing a buttoned-up grey shirt underneath and a pair of jeans. Gertz matched his vibe easily with an oversized, tartan coat, a white-collared shirt, a cardigan, and black dress pants. She also added a cute little hair clip in her hair and a pair of dangling earrings. It's safe to say the pair were still very much in sync.

By 2006, Tony Ressler and Jami Gertz had welcomed three sons into their family. And it seems they are very much a close unit, as seen in this picture taken in 2006. The couple brought their boys to a 2006 premiere of "Keeping up with the Steins", and it was all smiles all around. 

Gertz candidly shared what it was like raising three sons with the Chicago Tribune back in 2013, stating that her sons are very private people. "I have sons and so ... there's not a lot of sharing. There's kind of like, 'I'm hungry, what's to eat?' and, 'You need to take me here, Mom.'"

With the success of Tony Ressler's businesses and the couple's ever-expanding net worth, it's natural that the couple's next move was to buy a basketball team. The couple bought the Atlanta Hawks in 2015 for an estimated $850 million, and the pair emotionally supported each other throughout the buying process.

"He's like, 'Jami are we going to do this?' I'm like, 'I don't know. I'm so scared.' And he's like, 'It would be so much fun!'"Jami Gertz revealed to The Hollywood Reporter. And based on the picture above snapped in 2019, it doesn't seem like the pair regretted their decision.

In 2024, Jami Gertz and Tony Ressler's marriage seemed to still be going strong. What's more, the couple is unafraid to show their affection for one another in public more than 30 years after they said 'I do'. When attending the premiere for "Magic City: An American Fantasy", the couple was snapped seated and leaning against each other, all smiles for the camera as Gertz tenderly cupped her husband's face. The chemistry is clearly still off the charts for the couple and shows no signs of stopping. 

The billionaire couple rarely makes public appearances these days, content to keep to their family and close social circles. But the couple showed they were still very much in love as they showed up at the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) in April 2026, showing up to the opening of the David Geffen Galleries after donating $50 million. 

Aside from their tasteful outfit choices, the couple showed just how happy they were to be there. And with their three kids, a successful business empire, and noted philanthropic efforts, it's clear that Tony Ressler and Jami Gertz's marriage has been one of the more successful ones in Hollywood.
