Side-By-Side Pics Of Dannielynn Birkhead At The Kentucky Derby Show Her Personal Style Evolution

While the 2026 Kentucky Derby was full of fashion flops, Dannielynn Birkhead was able to provide a new approach to the typical whimsical and colorful style we often see her in. As the daughter of Anna Nicole Smith and Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn Birkhead is no stranger to the spotlight. However, the new look that she debuted at the 2026 Kentucky Derby was a distinct change of pace from her usual style (See photo on right below). "I feel like a vampire, which is the goal every day. That's like my life's goal is to look like a vampire every day," Birkhead said during an interview with Access Hollywood when asked about how she felt with the new look. During the interview, her father confirmed that this change of pace is closer to her eyeryday style when she's at home.

There are lots you need to know if you're dyeing your hair for the very first time, especially if you're trying to achieve a similar look to Birkhead. She appeared with a considerably shorter hairstyle that was a two-tone, ombre pixie cut. As a young woman who's transitioning from being a teenager to a young adult, it's no surprise that Birkhead is trying her hand at something different that feels best suited to her. Her style evolution seemed to have been in the making earlier on in 2024 when she wore an all-black outfit to the Kentucky Derby (top photo), whereas in previous years, she would always be seen with longer hair alongside large decorative hats and pastel colors — such as in the picture above, on the left, from 2023

Dannielynn Birkhead has been going through what so many teenagers go through — finding their identity. For some, that looks like changing your hair and makeup. For others, it looks like trying new hobbies that bring you joy. Whatever you define it as, getting towards that authenticity is crucial to becoming confident in your adulthood. After paying homage to her mother, Anna Nicole Smith, at last year's Kentucky Derby, this just fueled more comparison rumors between the two. "I just want people to know that while I love my mom and she's so beautiful, I'm also my own person, obviously, and I hope that's a bit more clear now," Birkhead expressed during her interview with Access Hollywood. While she may not be able to stop people's comparative nature, she can still contribute to the narrative by being vocal about her journey and introducing herself to the world as authentically as she can.
