Pics That Prove MAGA Ladies Don't Know How To Make A Blazer Work

The world of MAGA has a style all its own. It's an aesthetic that prioritizes tight-fitting, feminine silhouettes with a whole lotta leg. The conservative world of MAGA loves a high-maintenance look, with sky-high heels, an emphasis on sex appeal, and the echoes of prom queen glamour impractically mixed with politics. Then there's the whole beauty regimen associated with MAGA. There's the plastic surgery trend called Mar-A-Lago face that's created an eerie uniformity amongst its most devoted members. This includes garishly plump lips, a vehement resistance to signs of aging, and tight, taught skin that defies gravity as much as the heels do. Don't forget the blow-outs, the fake lashes, and the heavy makeup. It's a whole scene. 

But curiously enough, with so much emphasis on preening and grooming within the MAGA circle, the group gets it wrong a lot of the time. There's the bland shoe trend that's taking MAGA women by storm, the inappropriate cosplay outfits that figures like Kristi Noem love,  and, in true workplace fashion, poorly-styled blazers. In the moments where these women aim to dress professionally, they frequently reach for blazers, but even this basic outerwear doesn't work in MAGA circles. 

Karoline Leavitt attempted to play with proportions, and it led to a stunning fashion fail. The press secretary stepped out of the West Wing on June 2, 2025, to speak with reporters wearing a shapeless, lime green blazer. It was too oversized on her, and felt like a dated color choice. The lime green trend certainly had its moment, popularized by Blake Lively in 2018 when she stepped out in a lime green Versace suit in New York. However, that was seven years earlier, and Leavitt clearly missed the boat. 

Lauren Boebert has a woefully long list of outdated outfits, only made worse by the many blazers she wears. On September 19, 2023, Boebert attended a meeting at the U.S. Capitol wearing a coral dress, a beige handbag, and a snug, grey blazer. While the whole outfit didn't mesh, it was the blazer that was the most out of style. This is the exact cut of blazer that Kim Kardashian used to wear back in 2011, so the fact that Boebert is trying to rock it 15 years later shows how dated it really is. 

The former United States Attorney General Pam Bondi attended a press briefing with Kristi Noem on September 3, 2025, in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, to announce the creation of a new ICE facility. Bondi's burgundy blazer was an outdated fashion fail because of its awkward shape and shimmery chintz fabric. Additionally, the bold, yellow-gold buttons looked gauche and cheap. The look was similar to a Balmain blazer with yellow gold buttons worn by Jennifer Lopez in 2017, but Bondi's brassy blazer felt a step behind. 

Although recently fired, Kristi Noem has historically been a key face of MAGA. When she arrived to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 3, 2026, Noem arrived in a dark blazer that was covered in decorative buttons. She also wore a circular brooch and large, hoop earrings; the final result was an overwhelmingly busy visual of circles on her torso. The festoon of buttons was reminiscent of Kim Kardashian's Balmain blazer from 2014, where the jacket felt busy and overwhelmed. Not Noem's best look. 

Melania Trump attended Donald Trump's address to Congress on March 4, 2025, wearing a gray Dior skirt suit with a tonal scarf and extra-long black belt. The scarf and belt were reminiscent of the "Gossip Girl" fad from 2008, where these pieces became vital accessories. The key difference is that the "Gossip Girl" looks were youthful and colorful, whereas Melania's drab, gray look was an outdated snoozefest. It reads as if she's trying to be taken seriously, but the result just falls flat.

Lara Trump walked with hubby Eric Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on October 5, 2024. For the event, Lara chose a cropped green jacket and coordinating mini skirt, but the cut of the blazer made her look top-heavy. Not only was it unflattering, but it was also a dated style and color. The tone was too St. Patrick's Day, and it was an almost exact duplicate of a cropped green blazer Blake Lively wore in New York in 2013 — a long time ago.

White House aide Margo Martin stepped out in New York City on May 21, 2024, in a bright pink blazer that featured whopping shoulder pads and a loud, silver belt buckle. The Barbiecore fad hit a frenzy a year prior in 2023, so Martin was a bit behind. On top of that, the massive shoulder pads, a key feature of '80s styling, looked boxy and oversized on her. The blazer was simply too big and too geometrically structured, ultimately giving Martin a bowling pin silhouette. 

The United States Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, addressed the press from outside the White House on February 14, 2025. For the event, she wore a brown, pinstripe blazer that was so fitted that when she moved her arms, the buttons pulled and tugged. The mid-2000s to the early 2010s were all about the shrunken blazer, one that was extremely close-fitted and snug. Fortunately for style lovers everywhere, this fashion fad has passed. Unfortunately for Rollins, she missed the memo.
