Erika Kirk Looked So Different With Warm Brown Hair Before Marrying Charlie

Erika Kirk has made a name for herself as the newly appointed CEO of Turning Point USA following the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk, taking the helm and doing things her own way. Change and transformation seem to be part of Erika's DNA, and this applies to other minute areas of her life, as well — including her hair. While she's now known for her bold, blonde locks, there was a time when Erika rocked a much darker hairstyle, and it gave everyone a glimpse of what her hair looked like before she dyed it such a vivid blonde.

Back in April 2017, Erika shared a photo on Instagram advertising a beanie hat for her friend's company, Athletes Brand. Erika's darker hair gave her a very different vibe, and proved to be a pivotal moment in Erika's gorgeous hair transformation. The darker tones made her look more down-to-earth and approachable, since her current blonde is all-out bright. The tones also matched her brown eyebrows, and it's plausible that Erika hasn't quite moved on from her darker shades. After all, the many pictures of Erika with eyebrow blindness show that she's still used to filling in her brows with a much darker shade than her current platinum blonde. But love or hate Erika's statement hair, there's a sentimental reason she's kept it the same since marrying Charlie.

Erika said that Charlie loved her hair

While Erika Kirk is known for having very styled hair since marrying Charlie Kirk, there have been many times in her life when she was much more casual about it. In fact, there are many instances where Erika gave a glimpse of her natural hair, and it was much wavier than fans see at public-facing events. It's also, judging from the photo she shared on Instagram in 2017, much darker than she wears it now.

Erika's long, sensational hair has become a topic of discussion. When she sat down for an interview with Megyn Kelly in November 2025, Erika addressed rumors around the possibility that she can't achieve that kind of length without artificial assistance. "People think my hair is fake. It is very real," Erika told Kelly. Erika added that women have come up to her before and touched the back of her head, and she realized that they're feeling for hair extensions. Erika also explained that, as a child, her hair got so badly tangled and damaged from swimming that her mom gave her a bowl cut — which is why she grows it out to be as long as it is. "Traumatizing," Erika said. "I will never have hair shorter than my shoulders. Charlie [Kirk] loved my hair though. He just, he loved how long it was."
