10 MAGA Outfits That Were Ruined By The Wrong Heels

If you're looking for fashionable moments in the MAGA world, you may have your work cut out for you. From Karoline Leavitt's outfits that totally missed the mark to Kimberly Guilfoyle's cringey fashion and beauty trends that she needs to give up, it seems that the words "MAGA" and "stylish" rarely go together. On the bright side, each fashion fail can be turned into a teachable moment for the rest of us.

Not only do these women struggle to put together outfits that will finally land them on someone's best dressed list, but they also have a hard time with shoes, as well. In fact, in spring 2025, there was a bland shoe trend taking MAGA by storm: They were wearing beige heels with pretty much everything. And although some MAGA women moved on from the trend, others did not.

But even when MAGA women aren't falling over themselves to wear the same shoe, some of them have had somewhat reasonable outfits that were ruined by the wrong heels. While no one is expecting anyone, MAGA or not, to always be 100% on top of their game, a full-length mirror and final 'fit check before walking out the door can do wonders.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders' knee-high suede boots didn't complement her leather dress

Since her stint as White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has had a head-turning weight loss transformation — and that's great for her! You can tell she's feeling good in her skin because of the clothes she's been wearing, like the leather dress she wore to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February 2025.

However, as much as Huckabee Sanders could have slayed her look, her choice to pair the dress with knee-high beige boots took the outfit down several notches. She would have been better off with a pair of black heels.

Lauren Boebert's cowboy boots aren't business casual appropriate

We know that Lauren Boebert loves the cowboy boot trend, but she keeps making the same styling mistake. For some reason, Boebert thinks business casual attire and cowboy boots work, but they just don't.

While visiting the Wray Community District Hospital in June 2025, Boebert paired her cowboy boots with a pale blue business casual dress, and not only ruined the dress, but did a disservice to the boots. Yes, the boots are cute and have enough of a heel to give her some height, but black flats or nude heels would've been the wiser choice.

Katie Miller should have just said no to the over-the-knee boots

Another pair of heeled boots ruining another outfit in MAGA world? You better believe it. In January 2021, Miller shared this photo on Instagram of her husband, their new baby, and herself at the White House.

However, these boots are stealing the show, because their color makes them look like an extension of her coat. This is a situation that could have been saved with ankle boots instead. Apparently Miller's biggest fashion fails that prove she needs a new stylist have yet to result in her actually finding one.

Ivanka Trump tried a take on a gladiator sandals and it didn't go over so well

Although no one is saying this is one of Ivanka Trump's best looks, especially since cutout dresses became totally outdated in fall 2023, it is an outfit that could have been saved by another type of shoe.

There's just something about where the hemline falls and the ankle straps begin that creates a busy look. If the dress had been shorter, the heels could have worked; but because it's not, a less strappy heel would have complemented the dress, instead of taking away from it.

Melania Trump wore too much leather to the Smithsonian National Museum

While Melania Trump has been caught wearing some outdated trends, she usually dresses correctly for the occasion. But when she attended the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in February 2026 to donate her second inaugural dress, her black knee-high leather boots paired with matching leather pants did not fit the moment.

Considering she's there for a historical event, donning leather from the waist down is simply too much. Had Trump truly cared about why she was there, she would've skipped the leather boots and the leather pants, choosing something softer.

Karoline Leavitt's leather boots simply didn't make sense with this dress

For some reason, MAGA women don't seem to pay much regard to their hemline in relation to their footwear, as evidenced again here on Karoline Leavitt. When Leavitt attended CPAC in February 2025, she reached for one of her frumpiest outfits: This near-full-length leopard print dress, which she paired with knee-high, black leather boots.

Similar to Ivanka Trump's heels, Leavitt's outfit also could have been saved if either the dress was shorter or her heels were ankle boots or traditional stilettos. Instead, Leavitt looks too covered up and, well, frumpy.

Jeanine Pirro taking frills to the extreme

First of all, kudos to Judge Jeanine Pirro for attending a benefit for a Florida-based dog rescue and rocking this lovely coral and white chiffon dress. But while the design and fit are working for her, the shoes are not.

There's nothing wrong with bringing the colors in your clothing down to your footwear, but the dress has a lot going on, and the look would have looked better with a far less embellished shoe. Had the dress been one shade, the heels would have been fun pop of color, but now they appear to be in competition with the dress.

Pam Bondi's heels were more brunch-apropos than Fox-apropos

In August 2018, before she was the U.S. Attorney General, Pam Bondi appeared on Fox's "The Five" wearing a pretty basic red dress. It was definitely a step up from the outdated trends Bondi has been wearing since becoming attorney general; but because we're dealing with MAGA fashion, you know that something has to be off.

For Bondi, it was her decision to wear these heels with gingham fabric ties around the ankle. While the shoes are cute in their own right, they're not appropriate for the occasion, so they ultimately ruin the look.

Kimberly Guilfoyle did not need to wear this boot

When it comes to how MAGA women dress, Kimberly Guilfoyle is in an entirely different league. From her outfits that screamed revenge after her split with Don Jr. to makeup trends we're begging her to let go of, the U.S. Ambassador to Greece is someone who marches to the beat of her own drum.

While celebrating New Years in 2024, Guilfoyle wore this fitted bedazzled minidress and over-the-knee, off-white boots. Although the dress on its own is questionable, when Guilfoyle added the boots, it instantly became tacky. A simple flat would have worked better, but that's not how Guilfoyle rolls.

Lara Trump's heels should have been any other color

When Lara and Eric Trump attended a New Year's Eve party at Mar-a-Largo in December 2025, Lara showed up in this full-length, rose gold, sequined dress. While the dress and equally glittery clutch make so much sense for the event, Lara's heels do not.

As much as fashion is about balance (so head-to-toe glitter would have been too much), these nude heels scream business casual instead of NYE celebrating. If Lara had opted for any other color, even a black patent leather heel, she could have saved her look.
