Arielle Kebbel Outfits That Totally Missed The Mark

Although Arielle Kebbel has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, starring in early 2000s classics like "John Tucker Must Die" and "American Pie Presents: Band Camp," she struck gold when she was cast in the CBS series "Marshals." As part of the "Yellowstone" franchise created by Taylor Sheridan, "Marshals" follows Kayce Dutton and his team of U.S. marshals whose main job is to protect Montana from various injustices. Kebbel plays Belle Skinner, a member of this elite unit.

For the premiere of "Marshals," Kebbel went all-in with the western energy of the show, putting her in the iconic group of celebs who took method dressing to the next level when promoting their projects. "I love that tonight's dress is not only honoring being first a steward to our land, it's also a nod to western chic," Kebbel told People in February 2026 of her red, fringed, and embroidered dress by Ralph Lauren. "I do my best to upcycle and lean into sustainable practices where I can."

While Kebbel definitely nailed the look for the premiere of "Marshals," including showcasing the fact that she has mastered the art of the red lip, she hasn't always been on top of her fashion game. Like any celebrity, she's had style moments that left fans scratching their heads. From being a little too casual to entirely missing the plot, Kebbel has had her fair share of outfits that have totally missed the mark.

Trying to make an extra busy dress work

In January 2018, Arielle Kebbel attended the HBO Golden Globe Party wearing a sequin dress that didn't seem to have much rhyme or reason to it. Although the black sequins were perfect for the occasion, the style and cut of the dress were just all over the place. Between the keyhole bodice, single sleeve, thigh-high slit, and visible underwear, it didn't do her any favors. While Kebbel definitely gets props for acing the sheer clothing trend years before it actually became popular, she could have gone with something simpler for a more elegant look.

Sometimes too much denim can be a bad thing

Although a Canadian tuxedo can be a lot of fun, sometimes it can go totally wrong — as it does here on Arielle Kebbel. When the actor attended WonderCon in March 2017, her attempt at the denim-on-denim look came across as sloppy. For one, the pre-ripped jeans looked straight out of the '90s, giving the outfit an outdated feel. They also appear to be splattered with paint, which begs the question: Why? The chambray top also contained pre-faded random spots that gave it a messy appearance.

Getting uncomfortably close to cultural appropriation

While there are no rules that say white women can't wear a silk dress with Asian-inspired themes, this particular tunic is veering a little too close to a Japanese tomesode in its design, with its V-neck and empire waist. Granted, this photo of Arielle Kebbel is from the 2006 premiere of "Step Up" and the early aughts were basically another world, but it still doesn't feel quite right. Hopefully, when Kebbel comes across this photo now, she can see the error of her ways and won't be trying to pull off this look again any time soon.

Trying to turn a blanket into a statement piece

In May 2025, Arielle Kebbel attended Variety's Power of Women event in Nashville while wearing a full-length black dress and an article of clothing that's delivering major blanket vibes. This look is quite perplexing because the black dress could have been stunning on its own, or if paired with something more along the same lines in style. However, the color and fringes of this jacket are really making a mess of things. Its pattern is also confusing and far too casual for this particular event.

Dressed for a sleepover instead of an award ceremony

Anyone who has ever attended an awards ceremony knows they can be long and sometimes a bit boring, so being comfortable is always a good idea. But when Arielle Kebbel attended the Women Making History Awards in 2018, she took that advice a bit too far. Between the baggy camisole and wide-leg pants, she looked like she was heading to a sleepover rather than a red carpet. Had Kebbel wanted to make this outfit work, a tailor — one of the universally flattering clothing hacks for every shape and size – could have helped.

Seriously underdressed for a movie premiere

For the August 2008 premiere of "The House Bunny," Arielle Kebbel hit the red carpet in a look far too casual for any movie premiere. Although the design and color of the mini dress, as well as the wide white headband, were absolutely in style for the early aughts (because, yes, that's how we dressed then), it just doesn't sit well for this event. Instead, Kebbel looks like she's going to brunch with the girls and hitting up Delia's on the way home to buy another dress like this one, but in a different color.

Missing the mark with the both color and style

When Arielle Kebbel attended the "Black Adam" New York premiere in October 2022, she chose this shimmery dress that not only looks uncomfortable, but also isn't the most complementary color on her. While the fringes are fun, serving up some 1920s flapper glam, it's all too one-toned. In fact, the standout item in this photo is Kebbel's clutch, because its color isn't getting lost in all the neutrality going on with this look.
