Erika Kirk's Unflattering Pink Tulle Dress Is One Of Her Worst 'Fits Of All Time

Erika Kirk has made some fashion mistakes, both before and after her recent rise to fame. While Kirk was a known entity within the Turning Point USA community, it wasn't until the tragic death of her husband, Charlie Kirk, that Kirk flew into the global spotlight. With such a newfound interest in the widow, people are doing deep dives into the past of the CEO of Turning Point USA. This includes old styling choices, particularly moments when Erika Kirk wore outfits that totally missed the mark. But there is one pink dress in particular that people disliked.

Kirk wore this pink number to a Turning Point USA event in June 2025. Based on Kirk's own social media history, it's unusual to see her in pink, as she often goes for bolder tones. The flouncy babydoll Zimmermann dress featured billowing sleeves, an abundance of fabric around the neck, and a short skirt. People disliked the outfit for a number of different reasons. Some found the dress excessive and showy, while those of a more conservative fashion thought it was too short, especially at a religious convention. It certainly counted as one of many moments when Kirk rocked a leggy look. And the fact that she wore something so excessively feminine, while she and Charlie Kirk were speaking about traditional roles in family and marital life, further amplified the trad-wife undercurrent that this dress gave.

The only outfit more disliked than the pink dress was Erika Kirk's gold sequin suit

There are strong feelings on the internet about Erika Kirk's clothing. In many respects, this makes sense. When Charlie Kirk was alive, the married couple were, essentially, a walking embodiment of the Turning Point USA brand. Since fashion has the power to express individuality and ideals, her frilly, pink babydoll dress embodied the conservative, traditional identity that Erika was trying to portray. The fact that people didn't like it meant, on a deeper level, that some were uncomfortable with the submissive, trad-wife persona that both Erika and Charlie Kirk were promoting.

However, after her husband's death, Kirk took the helm of Turning Point and wore one outfit that was arguably even more provocative than the pink dress: The gold sequin pantsuit. This was certainly one of Erika Kirk's outfits that had more shine than a disco ball. The suit ruffled feathers because of how excessive it was, with Instagram users describing the outfit as "ridiculous." The Alice + Olivia jacket cost $895 originally, and the pants were $695. For many, the idea of a new widow wearing something so sensational was off-putting. The idea that the leader of a Christian organization would wear something so flashy seemed to conflict with certain values that are common within that community: A sense of humility and service towards others. Kirk has every right to grieve how she wants to grieve, and to wear what she wishes to wear, but the pantsuit showed a shift from the pink dress — she was taking charge.
