You Won't Recognize Landman's Michelle Randolph With Brown Hair
"Landman" fans will recognize Michelle Randolph as the stunning, real-life actor behind Ainsley Norris. She plays the headstrong daughter of Billy Bob Thorton's Tommy Norris in the Texas-based show, with the star's buttery tresses being an element of the character's designer-infused, southern beauty-queen style. "She's the typical long, big-haired, blonde Texas cheerleader," hairstylist Tim Muir explained to Motion Pictures.
The California native has taken the hair color, which belongs among inspiration-worthy shades of celebrity blond, to red carpet events and other projects, making her brief stint as a brunette all the more head-turning. Randolph starred in "A Snow White Christmas" as Blanca Snow back in 2018, temporarily changing her hair to a dark brown hue for the romance role. The fairytale-inspired holiday flick sees the actor as an amnesic baker who uncovers her truth and finds love with the help of seven unexpected friends.
Randolph kept her locks long for the roles, wearing half updos and loosely-curled looks alongside frilly blouses and festive dresses. While some of these hairstyles wouldn't feel too out-of-place on Ainsley Norris, the actor is nearly unrecognizable with such a starkly different hair color. Even so, Randolph ranks among the celebs who can pull off light and dark hair colors with the unexpected change-up.
Michelle credits the Landman stylist for Ainsley's killer hair
While Michelle Randolph hasn't dropped the details of her personal haircare routine, the rising star credits the "Landman" hairstylist for keeping Ainsley's hair on point. When questioned by The Film Tripper during a red carpet event, the "1923" actor chose messy ponytails over perfect curls, with the interviewer pointing to her onscreen character's perfectly imperfect updos. "We have the best hairstylist, Tim Muir," the California native explained in response.

Muir spoke to Screen Rant about the inspiration and maintenance that goes behind the character's blond bombshell look. "As far as color goes, I play on skin tone, face shape, and color, but for me, who that character is [determines] how I create a hairstyle for someone," the expert explained. "You've got a 17-year-old girl, Ainsley, a cheerleader, [with] long, blonde hair. That's typical—all of them have big hair. This is Texas. It's bigger and better in Texas."
As mentioned, Randolph typically sports a blond look offscreen, but her signature "Landman" shade still requires some upkeep. "For Ali (Larter) and Michelle (Randolph), their colors, being that blonde, had to be done every week to a week and a half," Muir said. "And [it had to be done] in a healthy way so that their hair doesn't fall out or break off." So, though Randolph's brief time as a brunette was surprising, her beloved blonde bombshell look doesn't come without its own strings attached.
