Kelly Ripa's Braless Habit Is Proof She's The Queen Of Confidence

When Kelly Ripa was honest about flying without a bra during travel excursions, it wasn't just a viral moment; it helped shine a light on a growing shift in how women are prioritizing their own comfort. Earlier in January, Ripa, alongside her husband and co-host for "Live with Kelly and Mark," Mark Consuelos, revealed in an episode that she doesn't wear bras on planes and initially thought the term "naked flying" pertained to clothes. The term actually means traveling without luggage and only essentials like a phone and wallet. Some flyers who have done this send their luggage ahead of them or opt for buying items at the destination they're going to. While it may not be one of the travel essentials you need in your vacation wardrobe, the intention behind the fad still supports intentional comfort. 

"I feel like life is hard, what's the point? Let's face it, I don't need a bra," Ripa expressed during the same episode when speaking more about her bra-free travel mindset. Similar to Ripa, other women across the country have also started going braless while traveling; their perspective, similar to Ripa's, stems from discomfort and wanting relief. A 2023 survey by YouGov revealed that, while 61% of women across all age groups wear bras every day, 39% reported feeling somewhat uncomfortable wearing them. Gen-Z in particular has strongly rejected wearing bras due to discomfort, and some never picked them back up after the pandemic, according to Reddit. "I think the pandemic/lockdown has played a part in it. I stopped wearing bras after months of staying home and not having to wear them. There was no way I was going back," one Reddit user commented on the thread. With Ripa traveling unapologetically braless, this can encourage other women to try it out, depending on how comfortable they feel.

Kelly Ripa's honesty about her plastic surgery journey also displays how much natural confidence she has, as she's explained to fans what areas of her body she's had work done on and why she chose to do it. Ripa confirmed that she's had plastic surgery on her earlobes, and also confirmed that she's had Botox around her eyes and neck. Meanwhile, other celebrities have either responded to plastic surgery rumors with confirmation or denial or have actively chosen to ignore conversations about it.
