Back in November 2024, Ellen DeGeneres surprised fans when outlets reported that she and her long-time wife, Portia de Rossi, intended to sell their California home in favor of living in England long-term. Since then, the controversial stand-up comedian confirmed that Donald Trump's election played a major role in the couple's decision to live abroad in the Cotswolds, explaining that they initially bought their U.K. home as a vacation spot. "We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in,'" she told the BBC in July 2025. "And we're like, 'We're staying here.'"

While relocating across the pond marked a major change for the Hollywood couple, the former talk show host has also undergone a notable appearance change since making the move. Though DeGeneres' natural hair color isn't the signature blond she's known for, she briefly departed from her go-to color and went with a dark 'do featuring hints of silver. She started sporting the change as early as January 2025, with the gray color on full display when she attended a gallery unveiling in Paris in September. The color change wasn't permanent, though, as DeGeneres was pictured with a shaggy rendition of her typical blonde color in December. Besides this, the TV personality has seemingly traded in the pantsuits of her talk show days for more casual 'fits, while distinct laugh lines prove she's lived a life full of humor.

Throughout her decade-spanning career, Ellen DeGeneres made her affinity for menswear obvious, with the dapper star being heavily associated with pantsuits alongside her blond pixie cut. Since the TV personality made the move to England, her style has shifted to more laid-back outfits featuring casual t-shirts, plenty of button-ups, and baseball caps, though she's left room in her closet for skinny jeans. Given that she's been spending time adapting to farmlife rather than mingling among the stars, this change in style makes sense for the comedian.

Fans who haven't caught up with DeGeneres since "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" went off air back in 2022 might be surprised to see that the Hollywood figure looks older since her big move. The Louisiana native is gunning for a place on the list of celebs who are confronting aging with confidence, with part of her skincare brand's ethos championing a positive approach to maturing. "It's not about 'anti-aging' because I think aging is a good thing. Despite all this, the "Finding Nemo" voice actor's move to the U.K. may be the least permanent of her changes, as rumors are circulating that she and her wife returned to the States for good in December 2025.
