The Real-Life Partners Of Marty Supreme's Leading Ladies

Even before it hit cinemas in December 2025, there was already a lot of buzz around the movie "Marty Supreme." Loosely based on the life of table tennis player Marty Reisman, the film stars Timothée Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a cocky young man who believes, without a doubt, he's destined for greatness in the world of ping pong. While the film centers around Chalamet's character, Marty, he has three leading ladies alongside him who help make the story what it is.

Not only does "Marty Supreme" star Hollywood icon Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Kay Stone, and Fran Drescher, who play Marty's mom, Rebecca Maser, the cast also includes Odessa A'zion as Rachel Mizler. Unlike Paltrow and Drescher, Mizler is relatively new to the entertainment industry, but already has some impressive work under her belt, including the film "Am I OK?" and HBO's "I Love LA." While off-screen Chalamet is still in a relationship with Kylie Jenner that's rife with red flags, on screen, his love interests are Kay Stone and Rachel Mizler, which adds to the allure of the character Marty Supreme, as well as the movie itself.

As is the case with any film that centers around a male character, if it weren't for the leading ladies doing their part, the movie would cease to exist. Although there are only three female leads in "Marty Supreme," each one brings something unique to the movie. And because art imitates life, their performances might have something to do with their real-life partners.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk

In "Marty Supreme," Gwyneth Paltrow plays Kay Stone, an heiress who doesn't just befriend Marty, but has a sexual relationship with him. In fact, as Paltrow shared on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," there's a lot of sex scenes and her son, who accompanied her to the New York premiere, was shielding his eyes from the screen. While Paltrow may be getting it on with Timothée Chalamet in "Marty Supreme," in real life, she's dated some major Hollywood celebrities, including Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck.

But when it comes to settling down and getting married, Paltrow has steered away from movie stars. In 2003, Paltrow tied the knot with Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin. After 10 years together and two kids, Paltrow and Martin very famously "consciously uncoupled" in 2014, resulting is Paltrow's epic post-divorce glow-up.

In 2018, Paltrow decided to give forever another try and married writer and director Brad Falchuk after four years of dating. While the two don't have kids together, they each have two children from previous marriages. Because of this, Paltrow and Falchuk didn't live together during the first year of the marriage, instead slowly easing together their families. "Married life has been really good," Paltrow told InStyle in August 2019, via Vanity Fair. "We took a year to let everybody [in the family] take it in and let the dust settle... I adore my husband. He's brilliant and deeply kind... And he pushes me in the best ways." As of December 2025, Paltrow and Falchuk are still together, and she's still making him is "boyfriend breakfasts" every Saturday

Odessa A'zion and Drew Starkey (possibly)

While Odessa A'zion may not have the name recognition that Gwyneth Paltrow has — yet — that's likely to change soon. Not only does A'zion play Marty's love interest, Rachel Mizler, in "Marty Supreme," but she's also currently starring in HBO's new series, "I Love LA." In addition to a handful of other roles, in November 2025, A'zion was nominated for the Astra Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Marty Supreme."

While there isn't much information about A'zion's personal life available, she did date Jaden Smith for a period of time around 2017. In 2020, A'zion talked about her former relationship with Smith on a podcast, explaining how dependent she had become on him and because they were always together, she stopped putting herself and her goals first. As of December 2025, A'zion may or may not be dating Drew Starkey.

Rumors about A'zion and Starkey have been circulating since as far back as 2021. In November 2022, A'zion posted a carousel of photos on Instagram of she and Starkey in honor of his birthday, but it still wasn't clear if the two were just besties or actually in a romantic relationship. In October 2025, the two were photographed together in Spain while on their way to a friend's pre-wedding party.

Fran Drescher and her rotation of friends with benefits

From 1978 to 1999, Fran Drescher — who plays Marty's mom in "Marty Supreme" — was married to television writer and director, Peter Marc Jacobson. She later had a two-year-long relationship with engineer and entrepreneur Shiva Ayyadurai, from 2014 to 2016. However, things changed when the actor entered her sixties, she had a change of heart about relationships

If you thought the whole friends with benefits and situationships was just something people in their 20s and 30s do, think again. Drescher told Page Six in January 2020 that she had a friend with benefits in her life. "You know I'm kind of dating myself and it's going quite well," she said. "I have my gay ex-husband who I love and he fulfills a lot of needs. I have someone on the side who is a friend with benefits." Drescher added that she saw the mystery man about twice a month, saying "What we do, we do great."

Five years later, in March 2025, when Page Six inquired about her aforementioned FWB, Drescher said, "I have a little rotation." In other words, it sounds like Drescher has gone from one friend with benefits, to whatever constitutes a "little rotation." While some might question whether having sex with a friend is ever a good idea, Drescher has her situation figured out and appears to be loving it, so good for her.
