Inappropriate Wedding Guest Dresses The Trump Ladies Wore
When it comes to inappropriate attire, you can always count on the Trump ladies to deliver. For example, there's the Ivanka Trump outfits that totally missed the mark, including the time in 2017 that her $5,000 Carolina Herrera metallic dress matched the thermal blankets that migrant children were using to stay warm while in cages at the border. Then, of course, there are the Melania Trump outfits that had people talking for all the wrong reasons, including the green Zara jacket that read, "I Really Don't Care Do U?" across the back, which she wore in 2018 when visiting a detention for migrant children. It's instances like these that prove empathy isn't something that the Trump women have much of and that they're ultimately about putting themselves first.
But as much as these women seem to care very little about the world that exists beyond the parameters of their inner circle, you'd think that when it comes to each other, they'd be better. After all, the Trumps really only seem to have that inner circle on whom they can count, so one would assume they'd be cognizant of how they dress when attending each other's weddings. However, as we've seen, they can't seem to get that right either. From wearing practically white to trying to upstage the bride in a sheer look, if you want an inappropriately dressed wedding guest, give one of the Trump ladies a call.
Melania Trump wore something a little too close to white for Tiffany Trump's wedding
While there are many outdated wedding trends and traditions the should be skipped, both for the bridal party and the guests, the fact remains that some wedding etiquette is absolutely set in stone. For example, wearing white or any shade even closely related to white is an absolutely "no-no." However, that didn't stop Melania Trump from wearing an off-white gown to Tiffany Trump's wedding in November 2022. If that weren't enough, Melania's look was also really casual which, depending on the attire requested by the bride and groom, can also be a major faux pas.
Ivanka Trump looked as though she was trying to upstage her little sister at her own wedding
On her big day, Tiffany Trump couldn't even get her sister, Ivanka Trump, to dress appropriately. While there was nothing wrong with wearing baby blue to a wedding, it was the design of the gown — a near-exact replica of Grace Kelly's dress in the 1955 film "To Catch a Thief." While Ivanka is no Grace Kelly and never will be, because of its resemblance to the iconic dress worn by Kelly, it took away from Tiffany's dress. If that weren't enough, Ivanka's outfit for her sister's rehearsal dinner should have stayed in the closet. The two-piece coral ensemble that included a bedazzled cropped halter top and a matching tea-length skirt, was inappropriate in more ways than one.
Lara Trump also did Tiffany Trump dirty on her wedding day
Although Lara Trump didn't wear anything close to white on Tiffany Trump's wedding day or a bedazzled crop top to the rehearsal dinner, she did wear one of the colors you should avoid wearing to weddings: metallic. Sure, metallic is always fun and demands attention, but that's the problem. "Always remember that, as a wedding guest, you are there to celebrate the bride and groom and not draw attention to yourself," certified image stylist Elizabeth Kosich told Best Life in June 2023. "Look-at-me metallics make you stand out and, ultimately, shift attention away from the bride."
Vanessa Trump also sees no problem in wearing white to weddings
In March 2025, Kai Trump, daughter of Don Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, posted a carousel of photos which, at first, seemed innocent enough. That is until you realize that tucked in between all the golfing photos of Kai there's a picture of both Vanessa Trump and her younger daughter as guests at some unnamed person's wedding, and they're both wearing white. To add insult to injury, Vanessa wore metallic heels and a champagne-colored cardigan that's definitely too close to white for it to be appropriate wedding attire.
Kimberly Guilfoyle may have misunderstood the assignment for Tiffany's Wedding
As it's become clear, when it comes to tacky, gaudy outfits Kimberly Guilfoyle always delivers. In fact, her fashion and beauty choices are so cringy, that her brain should be studied, because almost every single look she puts together seems to be worse than the last. That being said, it makes sense that when Guilfoyle attended Tiffany Trump's wedding with her then-boyfriend Don, Jr., her outfit left a lot of questions. While black has become a standard for weddings, especially evening receptions, between the huge puffed sleeves and train, it's just too much for someone else's wedding. But it's also very Guilfoyle, so no one could have possibly been surprised when she showed up in this.
Tiffany Trump's wedding wasn't the first time Melania Trump wore something a little too close to white
In 2017, Melania and Donald Trump attended the wedding of then-Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin and his bride Louise Linton. Despite the fact that Melania could have chosen any color in the world, she went with a shade of pink so pale that in certain lighting, it could have seen as white. To no surprise, Linton looks less than thrilled here, as most brides would about this color choice of a guest. After all, at the time, Melania was First Lady, so that should have been attention enough for her.
Ivanka Trump treated Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos' wedding like it was a fashion show
To be fair, based on our list of celebrity outfits that totally missed the mark in 2025, the people who attended the roughly $50 million wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos really took the cake. Not only did the Kardashians and Jenners show up wearing things that should never be worn to a wedding, but Ivanka Trump in this floor-length, coral bedazzled dress with a thigh-high slit is just far too much for a wedding. It doesn't matter how expensive the celebrations or the millionaire tying the knot, just no.
Melania Trump wore a sheer dress to Rudy Giuliani's 2003 wedding
Although we'll never really know if Melania Trump has intentionally tried to upstage brides while being a wedding guest, inappropriately dressing for weddings seems to be her thing. In 2003, two years before she married Donald Trump, Melania wore a black sheer dress to the wedding of Rudy Giuliani and Judith Nathan at Gracie Mansion. While sheer dresses are sexy and fearless, there's a technique to acing the sheer clothing trend — and that means, for starters, not wearing one to a wedding. No one needs to see your underwear or body, if you're a guest at a wedding.
