Gayle King's Face Transformation Since Her CBS Debut Is A Sight To See
Gayle King started on CBS Mornings (a program that used to be called CBS This Morning) in January 2012. Since then, King has noticeably changed, evidenced in side-by-side photos. King has been a mainstay of the network for years, famous for her groundbreaking interviews and her off-screen life. Think most recently of her Blue Origin New Shepherd rocket trip in April 2025. King's always coming up with things that keep her in the public conversation, though not all of them are huge successes. Many criticized the all-female space mission, calling it a parody of space research, while roasting the women who went — King included — saying that they were more focused on their glam and photo-ops than actual space exploration. In fact, glam is a huge part of King's beauty secret, and she credits this as the reason she looks so good after all these years in the spotlight.
Another reason why King looks so different from her early days at CBS is because of weight loss. King has been refreshingly vocal about this journey, and credits her success to Weight Watchers, a program she joined with her bestie, Oprah Winfrey. Oprah has been candid about using weight loss medication as well, including herself among the list of celebrities who have transformed after taking Ozempic or other GLP-1's. King has not admitted to this; instead, a big part of King's success came from sensible eating and exercise, and the transformation shows.
Gayle King credits her glam team with her transformation
Gayle King credits her transformation both to her weight loss journey and to her glam team. Those two components of her life, according to the news broadcaster, are the reason that she looks so fabulous and not, as King stresses, because of plastic surgery. In praising her glam team, King posted a tribute to them on Instagram in September 2023. "It takes a village...when...getting ready for an [interview] with take a guess?? Thanx to @gmodeste & @raedawnmua who always keep it 'cute!' Sometimes I'm asked if I've had plastic surgery on my face I say nope I've got Giselle & RaeDawn!" (Fun fact: the interview in question was with Ed Sheeran.)
Whatever the case, King certainly looks different. In October 2012, right after she started at CBS, she attended the Carousel of Hope Gala in California wearing a one-shoulder purple dress. Then in 2025, she attended the American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala wearing a black, velvet dress, showing off her striking transformation. While King might be skirting the issue of plastic surgery, she's not alone in making people wonder. Tons of women in the spotlight look completely different when compared to throwback photos, and many stay silent about plastic surgery. Media sensation Martha Stewart has undergone a complete transformation and, like King, denies ever having had plastic surgery. Similarly prevalent in the media, the Trump women look completely different in side-by-side pics but likewise say nothing about having had work done.
