Gilmore Girls Star Alexis Bledel Totally Changed After Her Divorce From Vincent Kartheiser

Alexis Bledel changed a lot of things about her life after her divorce from Vincent Kartheiser. The two met on the set of "Mad Men" in 2012 and married discreetly in 2014. They welcomed a child in 2015, all while keeping their private lives out of the spotlight. In fact, the two are so notoriously private that Kartheiser spoke about this level of discretion while sitting down with Vulture in 2014. While speaking about sharing his home life with the public, Kartheiser said: "It cheapens it; it weakens it. And it's magical, love, and all of that is profoundly spiritual, and it just doesn't feel right." 

Their love of privacy remained consistent after their split in 2022, with both Bledel and Kartheiser keeping very quiet about the end of their eight-year marriage. But there were evident changes in Bledel after her divorce, some positive and some up for speculation. Right after her divorce, Bledel left "The Handmaid's Tale," where she played the character Ofglen/Emily, having starred in the series since its 2017 debut. Since then, Bledel largely stepped away from Hollywood, taking a hiatus from acting. She hasn't openly admitted that she's stepped out of the spotlight because of her divorce, but the timing is certainly something to note.

While Alexis Bledel has taken a break from Hollywood, she did make a very rare appearance after her divorce. For the 2025 Emmy Awards, Bledel joined "Gilmore Girls" costar Lauren Graham to present an award together for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Bledel looked absolutely stunning in a strapless, silver gown. Compare that look to the teal and silver gown she wore to the GLAAD Media Awards in 2018, when she was still married to Vincent Kartheiser, and you'll see a few differences. After her divorce, Bledel was rocking long, voluminous hair and showing more skin. It was va va voom all the way. Fans were vocal about Bledel's post-divorce glow-up, praising the star in comments on an Instagram post. "Looking hot as ever, a lady with no man always glows up," someone commented. "The divorce made Alexis look younger, happy for her that she is back in life again," another wrote. Others simply raved about how beautiful Bledel looked that night. 

Bledel isn't alone in transforming after her divorce. In fact, there's quite a substantial list of celebs who've had a post-divorce glow-up.
