Heather El Moussa's Inappropriate School Visit Outfit Will Always Haunt Her

Heather Rae El Moussa is known for her bold and colorful style. However, the television personality may have pushed the limits of appropriate school attire when she attended a 2025 Mother's Day tea for her stepson, Brayden El Moussa, son of her husband, Tarek El Moussa. According to a May 9 Instagram upload shared by Brayden's mother, Christina Haack, the star showed up for the event in a purple dress with a plunging neckline. In any other context, such as a brunch with adult friends, the dress would have been perfectly fine. However, for a Mother's Day tea party at a classroom, it seemed like a risky choice.

Although the comments were largely full of people praising Haack and El Moussa's friendship and co-parenting skills, it's impossible to ignore how much El Moussa's outfit stands out. Granted, based on the photo, it seems Haack took a similar approach to her outfit that day, donning a black lacy number that exposed her décolletage. On a Reddit thread discussing the photo, one user pointed out "If you see behind them, the non famous moms are wearing sweaters." Another wrote that the outfit was "ridiculous' given that the location was a religious school.

Nevertheless, based on El Moussa's smile in the photo, it seems she felt confident with her outfit choice that day. However, this is far from the first time her look has caused a stir on social media.

Heather's love of spicy outfits have gotten her into trouble before

Heather Rae El Moussa loves a spicy outfit. Her Instagram feed is packed with sensational — and sometimes risqué — outfit choices that match her bubbly personality and SoCal habitat. While her fits are generally received with rave reviews from fans, she has gotten into hot water before. There was the low-cut purple dress at the Mother's Day tea, but there have been others. Over the Christmas season in December 2024, Heather and hubby Tarek El Moussa took some holiday photos before attending a party, sharing them to Instagram. Heather wore a fitted, red gown and someone wrote: "The dress is not appropriate. Your [sic] a mother now." Heather clapped back swiftly. "So because I'm a mother, I can't wear a pretty dress that makes me feel beautiful? What does that have to do with anything?" she began. "I am still a human, and my name is Heather. I'm not just a mother. Choose joy."

Heather is certainly not alone in her love of sexy outfits. Similarly, Christina Haack has worn some spicy outfits that had people drooling (and judging). Christina's also been busted for wearing some outdated outfits, so the two women can certainly create news with their clothing choices, both good and bad. Heather's pluck at defending herself against the haters shows that she's not letting it get to her, and she'll continue to wear what she likes, as she should.
