The Biggest Fashion Fumbles By News Personalities In 2025

2025 saw some major fashion flops from news personalities, which left many fans scratching their heads. These anchors and reporters stepped out wearing outfits that simply didn't land, and for a variety of reasons. In some cases, the looks were aging and unflattering or simply didn't fit properly. In others, the news personalities were dressed too casually for the event at hand.

It comes as a surprise, since part of being a news personality means assuming a public-facing position. A major expectation is that these people are literally camera-ready for work and for red carpet moments. What they wear to take out their trash is their business, but at prestigious events, part of the job is to look as polished as possible. When this doesn't happen, it's strange. From Harris Faulkner to Ainsley Earhardt and Kaitlan Collins, these high-profile anchors had some big fashion fumbles in 2025.

Kaitlan Collins' attempt at royal dressing flopped

Kaitlan Collins can pull off daring choices. For instance, on numerous occasions, Collins proved that she's the queen of a pantsuit. CNN's Chief White House Correspondent and anchor of The Source typically dresses well. However, when she visited England in September 2025, Collins' outfit was a total flop. In a post shared to Instagram, Collins noted that her blue and white polkadot dress was from Alessandra Rich and her yellow hat was by Sahar Millinery. Clearly, Collins was taking fashion points from Catherine, Princess of Wales, who frequently wears polkadot dresses by the same brand. However, on Collins, the daring dress looked strangely low cut and slouchy, making for an unflattering fit on the news anchor.

Harris Faulkner's dress looked like kale

Harris Faulkner, an anchor on Fox News who hosts "The Faulkner Focus," attended the Fox Nation Patriot Awards on November 6, 2025. The host isn't one to shy away from a bold fashion moment, and typically, they work in her favor. However, at this particular event, she opted for a long, green dress by Jovani that featured a heavily textured fabric. This particular look, thanks to the heavy ruching, made her look like she was wearing a leafy green vegetable. It was distracting, and certainly not her best look.

Kayleigh McEnany's black and silver dress was a miss

Kayleigh McEnany has a distinct style that people have come to expect and appreciate, so when she switches it up, it can be jarring. This is why McEnany is nearly unrecognizable without her signature makeup. The same goes for her fashion, which is typically sleek and polished. However, at the Patriot Awards 2025, McEnany arrived in a silver and black gown, and the dress was all wrong. The two tones of black in the skirt didn't make sense, and created an unfortunate pucker midway down the skirt. On top of this, McEnany's spray tan for the evening made her makeup look fall flat.

Christiane Amanpour's shiny outfit in London was mismatched

Christiane Amanpour, the Chief International Anchor for CNN and host of "The Amanpour Hour," attended the Charles Finch & Chanel Pre-BAFTA Party in London, England on February 15, 2025. For the occasion, the typically stylish anchor showed up in a rare flop. She wore a metallic pussy bow blouse that registered as gold to the camera, along with a pair of dark gray slacks with metallic flecks. The two differing tones worked against each other, and the outfit came off as mismatched.

Ainsley Earhardt's dowdy, satin dress aged her

Ainsley Earhardt, co-host of Fox & Friends, has her own workplace curiosities, like her romantic relationship with Sean Hannity, which is full of red flags. But another curiosity was why she chose to wear a particular ice blue satin dress to the Patriot Awards 2025. Typically, Earhardt's style is sleek and sophisticated. However, at this event, the Kori gown by Solace didn't land. The off-the-shoulder design made her look slouched, and the satin wrap around her hips looked bulky. It wasn't quite a bow, so that made the added embellishment even more confusing and unnecessary.

Dana Perino's black dress was a snooze

Dana Perino attended the Patriot Awards in New York City in November 2025, wearing an unflattering black dress with simple, black heels. For one, many others at the event wore floor-length gowns, so Perino's shorter dress read as too casual. The off-the-shoulder design, with an even lower drop on her shoulders, was visually confusing, and the dress just didn't dazzle. It was too meek a dress for the event, and didn't make Perino sparkle in the slightest.

Cheryl Casone's yellow jumpsuit was slouchy and frumpy

Cheryl Casone, a news anchor on "Fox Business," attended a luncheon in New York City in October 2025 at Le Jardinier. For the event, she wore a sloppy, yellow jumpsuit with a white blazer and platform sandals. The anchor typically dresses in smart, fitted suits, so this oversized look was unusual for her. The loose top portion was unflattering on her figure, and the long, loosely tied waistband looked undone. It was not indicative of Casone's more polished, put-together style.

Tomi Lahren's pink dress lacked balance

Tomi Lahren, co-host on Fox's "The Big Weekend Show," attended the Patriot Awards in November 2025 wearing a long, pink dress. While the color was flattering on the news anchor, the shape of the dress was dated and aged Lahren. The boxy shoulder pads added bulk, while the long sleeves and long skirt of the dress were visually overwhelming, considering it was in such a bold color. Lahren typically goes for a more youthful, fitted silhouette, and this pink number was an unfortunate anomaly for her.

Juju Chang's denim dress was too casual for the occasion

ABC news anchor Juju Chang, host of "Nightline," attended the TAAF Heritage Month Summit and Celebration on May 21, 2025, in New York City. She chose a knee-length denim dress by Anna Mason for the occasion, along with heeled sandals. While the denim dress would have been fine for a different setting, the piece was too casual for that particular event, particularly in a side-by-side comparison with Lucy Liu's much more dressy black outfit. Denim is a notoriously casual fabric, and Chang's dress was more suited for a weekend brunch.
