The Outdated Accessory Karoline Leavitt Won't Leave In The Past
Of all the things we've learned from Karoline Leavitt's presence in the White House, the most obvious is the fact that the woman is absolutely clueless when it comes to fashion. From the frumpiest work looks that didn't flatter her to her butchering of the butter yellow trend with a sloppy outfit, it's clear that Leavitt desperately needs a style makeover. While it's one thing to have the occasional fashion disaster, having more outfits that miss the mark than work means something needs to be done to correct the issue.
But it isn't just Leavitt's clothing ensembles that continue to fail. There are some major issues with her accessories too. As if it weren't bad enough that Leavitt already has one outdated accessory that she can't leave behind — the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM tote — she's also added another, more obvious one: oversized aviator sunglasses. Regardless of where in the world Leavitt might be or what the occasion is, she has these absurdly outdated sunnies on. If this were 1975 or Leavitt were auditioning for a remake of the 1986 classic "Top Gun," then the sunglasses would make sense. But since neither scenario is the case, it's time for Leavitt to give these sunglasses the boot and update her look.
What Leavitt could wear instead
Since Karoline Leavitt stepped into her role as White House press secretary, it's become painfully clear that her worst outfits all have something in common: she's dressing for her husband's age bracket. Leavitt's husband, real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, is 32 years older than her. While that's one of the many glaring red flags in Leavitt's marriage that we can't ignore, it shouldn't stand in the way of Leavitt being able to step into 2025 with her sunglasses.
Leavitt's round face means there are glasses shapes that she should avoid at all costs. At the top of the list is anything circular and rounded, and aviators are definitely rounded. A better choice for Leavitt would be sunglasses that help elongate her face, as opposed to exaggerating its roundedness. Going for large square and rectangular shapes or oversized cat-eye sunglasses wouldn't only be more flattering, but more on trend too — after all, chic cat-eye sunglasses never go out of style.
It's also worth noting that because we're talking about sunglasses and not regular glasses, it's okay to have some fun — even though Leavitt is press secretary. Bold colors and chunky frames aren't just an easy way for Leavitt to express herself, but they're also trending. Sculpted designs are also en vogue and offer a lot of options. In other words, Leavitt has zero excuses for not elevating her sunglasses game stat and kicking her outdated lenses to the curb.
