As she's evolved from Disney Channel star to Grammy-winning pop icon, Miley Cyrus has had a stunning style transformation. She's experimented with plenty of hairstyles along the way, being among the celebrities to rock the trendy wolf cut, but her natural texture forever ranks as one of our favorites looks from the celeb. The Tennessee native stunned in her natural brunette tresses while attending a pre-release listening party for her ninth studio album "Something Beautiful," with her side-part look featuring a mixture of loose curls and waves.

"We really wanted to highlight her natural beauty and her natural hair," her long-time hairstylist Bob Recine told The Zoe Report in May 2025. "Tonight is the beginning of a new phase for Miley. For the next two weeks, we are going to start toning down the makeup and keeping stylings natural and fairly clean looking." The expert mentioned that he used products like Nexxus' Volume Medium Hold Mousse and Nexxus' Repair & Nourish Ultra Lightweight Hair Oil to enhance the star's natural texture while keeping the frizz to a minimum.

Cyrus paired her side-parted hairstyle with two different outfits at the LA event, keeping things simple with a little black dress and flats before stunning in a sparkly fringe dress from Roberto Cavalli. True to Recine's word, the "Flowers" singer opted for a minimal beauty look, sporting lengthened lashes and a nude-toned lip color. Overall, we've loved seeing Cyrus turn heads with her natural texture throughout her "Something Beautiful" era, with her listening party being just the beginning of the minimalist arc.

Miley's natural hair texture was an intentional choice for album promotion

Miley Cyrus has let her natural hair texture shine beyond the intimate "Something Beautiful" listening party, with the celeb wearing her waves at press events and NYC sightings throughout summer 2025. When speaking with The Zoe Report, hairstylist Bob Recine explained that the pared-back styling was intentionally chosen to contrast the visuals of the "Something Beautiful" film that accompanied the album's debut.

"Toning the hair down now allows for us to really showcase the incredible work we did in the film with her real hair and allow for the film to speak for itself," he told the outlet. "This also allows for Miley to showcase a more humanistic side allowing viewers to really listen to her share the creative behind work without taking away from the film." Interestingly, this idea relates back to observations Cyrus has made about how the media perceives her different hairstyles.

"The public really makes my hair, I guess, the, kind of, monitor of how I'm doing," she said when appearing on "The Howard Stern Show" in 2020. "My hair is some sort of, like, reflection for my sanity, my sexuality, my sobriety." The singer pointed to the role her hair played in her hit Disney show "Hannah Montana," with her superstar persona donning a blonde wig on the series. "Basically, we drilled that into their brains for eight years of a series," she said. While we love seeing the star rock her natural texture, we hope the elaborate looks of her "Something Beautiful" film means public perception hasn't limited her self-expression.
