Jenna Ortega turned heads at the global premiere of "Wednesday" Season 2 Part 1, with the scream queen forgoing her typical shoulder-length cut for super long hair extensions. The California native wore a scaly, figure-hugging gown from Ashi Studio to the July 2025 event, with the floor-length piece featuring a tight turtleneck and jagged peplum skirt. She further cultivated an otherworldly vibe with her styling, pairing her bleached brows with a middle-parted 'do pulled behind her shoulders and tied into a ponytail. The lower back-reaching extensions, styled by hairstylist Cesar Deleon Ramirez, were wrapped with a thick braid.

While the entire look was majorly transformative, with the star landing among the celebs who take method dressing to the next level, the super extended hair length marks a major departure from Ortega's usual hairstyle. In fact, the star made headlines in 2022 for cutting her locks into a trendy, celebrity-approved wolfcut. "Up until then I was really, really attached to my long hair," she told Vogue. "Changing it encouraged me to be more adventurous; to experiment and be more creative in that way." These head-turning extensions mark a new hair-centered adventure, but this isn't the only time the star has added length to her locks.

Extensions were part of Jenna's Wednesday Addams transformation

While Jenna Ortega has proven to be a goth glam queen on the red carpet, she also portrays one in the hit series "Wednesday." The former Disney star underwent a braided-pigtail transformation to portray the titular Addams character, with makeup artist and hairstylist Nirvana Jalalvand giving fans insight into the process on Instagram. She shared a time lapse of Ortega's transformation, revealing that weft hair extensions, as opposed to fusion or tape-ins, were used to achieve the recognizable look.

"We added in x3 sets of wefts into each side of Jenna's head and blended them into her natural hair, which we dyed darker for the show," the expert wrote in the caption. "Eco Gel was our best friend for getting those layers tucked in as I braided." If you're feeling inspired by the goth glam transformation, then the Shape & Define Braid Gel from Eco Style is seemingly worth having on hand, but the braids aren't the only element of the iconic hairdo.

Eyebrow-grazing bangs set Tim Burton's version of Wednesday apart from other renditions of the classic character, with Ortega opening up about how the fringe came to be in a Teen Vogue video. "It was really important to [Burton] that there was something different with the hair," she said. "We tried silver streaks in my hair. Short, tiny braids. Really long, thick braids. We just tried all different variations." She explained that experiments with clip-in fringe led her to actually cut her hair for the role, producing the iconic "Wednesday" look that fans know and love today.
