The Fall 2025 Hair Trends To Have On Your Radar

As fall approaches, we're expecting as many major shifts in hair trends as the weather. Though 2025 has already introduced us to some trendy haircuts — including the French bob and thick bangs — we'll be trying some sharper, more 'done' styles in the latter part of the year. The season's most popular 'dos mark a drastic change to the short hair trends of fall 2023, as the easy, undone looks that reigned supreme two years ago have transformed into more glossy styles.

"There's less focus on looking effortless and more focus on looking like you meant it. The whole 'I just woke up like this' thing has evolved into something more styled, more deliberate, and with a bit of polish," Iggy Rosales, celebrity and editorial hairstylist, tells us exclusively. "People want their hair to actually say something this season," he adds.

The hair shifts we're anticipating are likely the result of our increasingly turbulent lives. "Right now people want change that feels immediate. There's so much uncertainty in the world that doing something bold with your hair feels like a small, personal power move. It's a lot cheaper than therapy and easier than moving to a new city," he explains. So, from warm tones to glossy blowouts, these are the hair trends to have on your radar as the leaves start to fall.

Warm, brassy blonds and brunettes are on-trend tones

When it comes to the hottest hair hues for fall 2025, think warm thoughts to fend off the cooling temperatures. Iggy Rosales predicts the seasons trendiest colors will all be warm toned, with honey blonds and rich brunettes leading the charge. "These shades are flattering on almost everyone and they photograph beautifully, which matters more than ever," he exclusively tells us. Can't decide what way to go? Try Sydney Sweeney's brassy, brond style for the perfect in-between shade that will compliment a range of skin tones.

Dark cherry locks will be big, too

Another color to try as the weather cools? Dark cherry. We know, deep red hair shades aren't exactly ground-breaking for fall, but they're a classic for a reason, so we're expecting to see a lot more of this rich tone at pumpkin patches across the world. Though it can be worn by anyone if you have the confidence to pull it off, it's particularly flattering against olive and darker skin tones due to its deep nature and warmer undertones.

Intentional blends will bring a modern twist to gray tones

Rocking gray hair with confidence has been so much more than a trend for a while now, and we're thrilled to say that will continue into fall 2025. But there's a twist to make silvery strands feel more modern. This season will be all about blending your natural roots with warmer gray tones for a mature, sophisticated, yet considered look. This feeds into the more intentional hair trends of the season, as it's all about embracing natural beauty but in a more 'done' and purposeful way.

Glossy blowouts are hot (literally)

We already confirmed blowouts are a previously outdated beauty trend back with a vengeance in 2025 — and we weren't kidding. To be on-trend for fall 2025, your blowout needs to be as glossy as possible. "Sleek, round-bruhed blowouts with a glassy finish are making a quiet comeback," Iggy Rosales says, exclusively. "It's less about volume for the sake of drama and more about control, health, and finish." The shorter your hair, the smaller round brush you'll need, but Osensia's Medium Round Brush or AIMIKE's Medium Round Brush will work for medium-length locks.

The beehive is back

In a hair move we weren't expecting, the classic, voluminous beehive style is set for a comeback. This hairdo was huge in the '60s, and now, thanks to the resurgence of polished looks for fall 2025, we predict it'll be one of the most popular hairstyles of the impending cooler months. To keep it modern and avoid it looking costume-y, try it with a more delicate, contemporary, headband rather than the chunky, plastic accessories we saw back in the day.

The structured side part is making a resurgence

Though we declared dramatic side parts an outdated haircut to ditch in 2025, it's a different story for the structured side part — Millennials rejoice! "The side part has made its way back from exile. It's precise, dramatic, and instantly makes any hairstyle look more styled even if you've done nothing else," Iggy Rosales exclusively tells us, noting, "Strong parts are everywhere." To avoid your style looking outdated, try not to take your side part from too far over the other side of your head and ensure you're creating a sharp, clean line.

Try the choppy, uneven bob

Another bob style to try as we embrace autumnal vibes is the choppy, uneven look. "It works because it feels a little rebellious, but still editorial," Iggy Rosales explains exclusively. This option offers plenty of room for customization, as you could choose to go longer on one side than the other, or go longer at the front than the back. To really be on-trend though, you could put an uneven spin on the side-part bob, which will also be huge this fall.

Strategic foil placements will make locks look expensive

Though chunky highlights had a moment in 2024, for fall 2025, we're more focused on placement than width. "Expect more strategic foil placement that acts like natural contouring for the face. It's the kind of technique that looks subtle, but makes the hair feel expensive," Iggy Rosales exclusively says. That means placing more highlights around your face for a flattering, framing effect, similar to the money piece hair trend many of our favorite celebs have rocked recently.

Fall 2025 will bring back the glossy, wet hair look

You'll also want to seek inspo from these celebrities who have totally mastered the wet hair look for fall 2025. The wet-look is feeding off the glossy trend, and Iggy Rosales promises us we'll be seeing a lot of shiny looks around. But the modern take means adding texture without hardening your tresses with masses of gel or hairspray. "It should feel soft and conditioned, not crunchy or stiff. Almost like your hair just came out of a facial," he exclusively explains.
