Ariana Grande Looks So Different With Her Natural Hair
Long-time fans know that Ariana Grande has undergone a magical hair transformation throughout her career, repping everything from deep red tresses to blond ballerina buns. Even so, the "Wicked" star looks majorly different with her natural locks on display, landing on the list of celebrities you probably didn't know have naturally curly hair. Photos from the Florida native's early days on Broadway, performing in the 2008 production of "13," show off her brunette ringlets, but that isn't the only time that she's gone au natural. Grande opted for a pared-back appearance to promote a God Is A Woman launch in August 2022, with her curly hair pattern and natural brown coloring being visible in an Instagram video and a Polaroid-style snapshot.
The minimalist look corresponded with the eco-conscious messaging of the launch, which featured a travel-size fragrance, a body scrub, a body oil, and a hand and body cream. "Each product was developed with clean, vegan, sustainably sourced, beautiful ingredients ie: coconut oil, shea butter, argan oil and lots of love," she captioned the video. Though Grande doesn't show off her natural brown curls very often, the "Positions" singer has occasionally opened up about the reasoning behind this decision.
Ariana's hair journey is a reflection of her evolving career
Ariana Grande took to Facebook in 2014 to respond to questions related to her rising penchant for ponytails, with the pop star explaining that she had done some major damage to her brunette locks while acting in "Victorious" on Nickelodeon. "I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat...as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair," she explained. "My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down."
Since then, Grande has managed to elevate the ponytail to new heights, but she's also revealed some more personal reasons for keeping her curly hair on the down low. She acknowledged on the "Zach Sang Show" that her hair has evolved to reflect different eras of her career, with her natural curls typically remaining private. "My real hair, which is [this] humongous, curly, curly poof...so few people get to see it and it's cute and it reminds me of me as a kid," the actor said. "It's who I am privately, but so is this. I wear my ponytail all the time, too." While Grande looks majorly different when sporting her natural brown curls, the pop star manages to stun no matter what.
