What Is Millie Bobby Brown's Natural Hair Color?

Right before our eyes, "Stranger Things" and "Enola Holmes" actor Millie Bobby Brown has evolved from the little girl we met on the pilot episode of the Netflix mega-hit into a mega superstar. Not only has she gone from a pre-teen to a married woman (which was reflected in Brown's stunning style transformation), her fashion has evolved to — and that incudes experimenting with her hair. The star has tried a range of cuts and colors over the years, but we've done some sleuthing to find out if she lives up to her name with her natural color. And it looks like she does, as Brown appears to be a natural brunette.

The biggest clue to her natural color is her baby photos. Brown shared an adorable snap of herself as a youngster on Facebook, where she clearly had light brown hair with a hint of warm blond at the ends. Her tresses were adorably curly, too. The actor captioned the sweet snap, "Always my mood."

Several years later in 2014, Brown appeared at the Summer Television Critics Association event and still had brown locks with caramel ends, though her hair was slightly darker (which can happen naturally as we age). Given that she was just 10-years-old and didn't have visible roots, it's safe to assume she was still rocking her natural color. Another giveaway she's a true brunette like Gwen Stefani, whose natural hair isn't platinum blond? Several years later, her roots were very much showing through her dyed, light blond locks when she attended a screening of "The Electric State" in 2025. The majority of her strands were super light, but clearly became a mousier brown closer to her scalp.

Millie Bobby Brown might shave her head again

Though Millie Bobby Brown is stunning with her natural brunette hair, that's not stopped her from trying a range of hues while growing up in the spotlight. In addition to her bright blond venture, she's also tried a toffee balayage shade, very dark brown, and even pastel pink. But it's not just via her color where she's willing to experiment with her hair. The star has admitted she's open to shaving her head again, which she did while starring in "Stranger Things." In a since deleted 2018 tweet, Brown told her followers she missed her incredibly short 'do and explained (via People), "Shaving your head is so empowering. You don't need hair to be beautiful. You are beautiful with or without. I learnt that too." And she wasn't wrong, because buzzcuts can be a great beauty reset.

That's a mantra the Primetime Emmy nominee carried with her, as she revealed seven years later on "Call Her Daddy" she'd made plans to shave it off again. "I always tell [her husband, Jake Bongiovi] for my first baby, I wanna shave my hair off. I don't know. I just feel like it was really liberating. Would suggest it for anyone, any girl," Brown said. She added, "I just think, like, hair is such an ordeal anyway to deal with ... Why deal with my hair? I think it's such a liberating experience, like to be a woman is, and I felt like I had that experience as a girl, but I'd like to have that experience as a woman." Brunette, blond, buzzcut, or long (or anything in between) Brown is clearly one confident and gorgeous young woman who doesn't let her hair dictate her self-worth.
