Khloé Kardashian Totally Upgraded Her Style Post-Divorce

Khloé Kardashian's marriage to Lamar Odom was tumultuous as best. The exes' relationship (and the tough aftermath) was documented on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and the spin-off "Khloé & Lamar," while their headline-making split marked a significant time in the reality star's life that was anything but easy. Thanks to that breakup, Kardashian taught us some hard lessons about love. Though she and Odom originally called it quits in 2013, their divorce wasn't finalized until 2016 (in that time, they called off and then reinstated their divorce after he had a medical emergency).

While she was still married to Odom, Kardashian blazed her own fashion trail, telling Glamour U.K. that shortly before announcing her split from the athlete, "I definitely march to the beat of my own drum... I feel really sexy in just jeans, t-shirts and a pair of stilettos — I don't need to be in some short mini dress and have a crop top on to feel sexy." But that didn't stop her slipping into sheer mini dresses and sparkly, leg-baring numbers following her 2009 wedding, as her red carpet style was all about attention-grabbing, form-fitting garments. Take the silver sequin mini dress she wore to E! Entertainment's 20th Birthday Celebration in 2010, for example. She paired the super shiny number with a leopard-print clutch and black, peep-toe heeled boots. While the look may have been trendy at the time, it was far from sophisticated or refined.

But we saw a whole new side to Kardashian after the former basketball player exited her life and, honestly, we'd expect nothing less from the beauty who fronted a show called "Revenge Body". Kardashian seriously stepped up her style game and began choosing chicer, more flattering garments that reflected her new chapter.

While in Las Vegas mere days after filing for divorce from Lamar Odom for the second time, Khloé Kardashian dialed up the sexy vibe in a way we hadn't seen a lot from her. Though seeing the star in a plunging, skintight dress was nothing new, the muted pink hue and knee-length shape felt more mature. Equally noticeable was her footwear. The old Kardashian may have opted for gaudy and loud shoes but, post-split, she wore classy white, pointed toe heels that elongated her legs.

In 2018, Khloé Kardashian was pregnant with her first child, True Thompson, and her style got another upgrade as she prepared for motherhood. In one photo from that time period, she looked chic in a black, plunging midi dress while posing with her then-partner Tristan Thompson. She wore nude, pointed-toe heels for a classic and refined aesthetic. Though the ensemble could have been considered safe, she made it more interesting by adding a long, black jacket with leather-look patches to add texture to the 'fit.

Khloé Kardashian showed us how to do monochrome dressing the right way in 2019 after splitting with Tristan Thompson. She walked the red carpet in a crop top and high-waisted, asymmetric mini skirt with a thigh slit that showed her toned abs and legs (and Thompson what he was missing). She added knee-high, black boots and a jacket she casually wore off her shoulders. Breaking up the same-colored clothing kept things interesting, and the mix of textures and cuts ensured the all-black outfit was anything but boring.

Khloé Kardashian embraced a simple color palette in 2021 in a unique, form-fitting, maxi dress with multiple faces across her torso and lower legs. She kept her footwear understated via nude, pointed toe heels, which worked well with such a busy garment. The neutral dress complimented her tan skin and her super long, blond locks to create an elegant, warm, fashion-forward vibe while ushering in a new, suave, and polished fashion era for the star.

At the 2022 Met Gala, Khloé Kardashian looked every inch the star she'd become. The Good American co-founder had our jaws on the floor in a glittering, gold gown with plenty of movement, which she paired with a vintage-style black wrap and long gloves. The mature and uber-glamorous ensemble felt a million miles away from the youthful, sometimes gaudy clothing she sported during and before her marriage, and confirmed this independent woman was all grown up.

Khloé Kardashian told Marie Claire in 2023, "I try to pick outfits that make me feel confident." And she certainly oozed confidence when she attended a Beyoncé gig in bold, silver, sequin pants with matching, metallic pointed toe heels and a similar chrome bag. The TV personality flashed her toned middle and paired the loud, high-waisted bottoms with a ribbed, white, cropped tank top. Her dark sunglasses and layered, chunky, and bedazzled necklaces, gave the very modern, cool-toned ensemble a glam edge.

At a 2024 Super Bowl party, Khloé Kardashian paired a white crop top with trendy cargo pants (which just aren't going away), and a cream, teddy jacket round her elbows. Crop tops and oversized pants are a dream for those who love playing with proportion, and Kardashian's look showed why, as it complimented her figure but still felt authentic. This outfit proved she can pull off any trend and clearly has no plans to tone down her looks anytime soon. And we can't wait to see what she wears next.
