Kylie Jenner Won't Live Down Her Inappropriate Outfit To Lauren Sanchez's Wedding

As all of Hollywood's finest descended on Venice for the union of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, Kylie Jenner managed to turn heads for all the wrong reasons. To attend the ceremony, the reality star stepped out of her accommodations at the Gritti Palace and committed the single worst fashion faux pas one can make at a wedding: she wore white. The look was a corseted, dove-colored gown accented with tiny black bows. It's true there are a lot of different wedding dress codes, but avoiding white is really one you should never forget. Plus, color aside, the dress is a racy choice for a wedding ceremony, even if sexy is the Kardashian brand.

As a rule of thumb, wedding guests should make style choices that keep the focus on the couple who they are there to honor. Granted, it's probably hard to outshine a bride who is hosting three days of wedding celebrations that have largely taken over the city of Venice. Still, Jenner's gown violates the cardinal wedding guest rule, which is not to steal the bride's white-gown spotlight. Though it's a lovely look, Jenner's choice of hue reads as thoughtless and even attention-hungry. It's also far from the first time she's been a celebrity who showed up to someone else's wedding in an inappropriate outfit.

Too loud in gold at the Biebers' wedding

Kylie Jenner garnered the wrong kind of attention back in 2019 for an over-the-top gold gown she wore to Justin and Hailey Bieber's nuptials. With its shimmering metallic fabric and deep cutaways, the dress was a dramatic choice for a guest and risked pulling attention from the intended center of attention: the couple. Jenner caught plenty of flack on social media. One Reddit commenter observed, "If some bish showed up at my wedding dressed like that, I'd throw them out on their ear." Another Reddit commenter offered a theory as to why Jenner, and her sister Kendall, seems so compelled to compete for the spotlight: "They're jealous and that's why they pull these attention grabbing stunts at other women's weddings."

Of course, Jenner is no stranger to fashion mistakes. Over the years, Jenner's style has gone from blue hair to British Vogue, getting more sophisticated — and expensive. But the curvy reality star loves a skin-baring, lingerie-inspired moment and that's an aesthetic that doesn't always suit the moment.
