Taylor Swift's Outfit At The Stanley Cup Final Signals The End Of The Quiet Luxury Trend

Taylor Swift is loving and living and proudly, and dressing loudly. At the 2025 Stanley Cup Final on June 12, 2025, which she attended alongside boyfriend Travis Kelce, she made it very clear the quiet luxury trend can't come to the phone right now... because it's dead.

While quiet luxury is all about high-quality pieces that look unassuming (think no obvious logos, muted colors, and little to no embellishments), Swift's look was the opposite and gave Ivanka Trump's outfits that cost more than the average rent a run for their money. Swift's AREA Crystal Trim Track Jacket and matching Crystal Embellished Track Shorts screamed luxury and, combined, retailed for $1,590. The beige jacket had the company's logo clearly printed across the left side of her chest and large, rhinestone embellishments running down either side, making it very clear Swift's no longer in her quiet luxury era.

Her accessories, including her shoes, were anything but understated. Swift paired the two-piece with heeled boots by Prada and carried a Chanel 25 bag, which has a price tag of around $6,900. She also wore the famous, custom, diamond encrusted TNT bracelet (that's for Taylor 'n' Travis, of course) that both she and Kelce own, which cost $6,360. Unlike Swift's worst-dressed red carpet moments though, this whole look worked from head-to-toe.

Taylor Swift used to love quiet luxury looks

Taylor Swift's style shift is so notable because the "Cruel Summer" hitmaker has traditionally favored quiet luxury looks. She built her street style on pieces that didn't boast obvious logos, making her overall look seem more relatable and attainable. Founder of PR agency JAG Communications, Kat Orchard, explained to Business Insider that may have been a strategic choice. "She looks like someone who her fans could be friends with because she is a direct reflection of them," she said in 2023, hinting Swift's wardrobe may have been an attempt to downplay her net worth and seem more relatable to fans.

However, Swift has experienced a notable style transformation since she started dating Travis Kelce in summer 2023, particularly when it comes to her street style. Equally though, the superstar's decision to wear her luxury on her sleeve (literally) could be more down to changing trends. After all, the quiet luxury and old money aesthetics had us chasing an unattainable ideal, which could suggest Swift's shift to loud luxury marks a more authentic version of herself. Hey, she's worked hard for what she has, so why not show it in outfits that make her feel confident?

Notably, Glam declared the quiet luxury trend outdated in 2025, so Swift's sparkly, logo hockey look may be more representative of the trend's demise. As Warren Wright, stylist at SHOWRMM in Los Angeles, explained, "... the general consumer was always drawn to logos and branding; therefore, that mindset can't maintain a quiet-luxury wardrobe over time and truly be satisfied." Whatever the reason though, Swift is living loudly and unapologetically in all aspects of life with no quiet luxury in sight, and we love that for her.
