Rebel Wilson Is Nearly Unrecognizable After Her Stunning Weight Loss

Rebel Wilson has been candid with fans and followers about her weight loss journey, so people have been able to cheer her on as she's made progress. And she's made some astounding progress! It all started in January 2020, when Wilson jumped on Instagram to declare 2020 her "Year of Health." She shared that she was focused on staying active and hydrated, inviting others to do the same. "Who's with me in making some positive changes this year?" she concluded.
For many of us, New Year's resolutions can fail spectacularly. But Wilson stuck with it, and her "Year of Health" became several years of commitment to a plan to lose weight, as well as work on her overall health. In the span of about four years, Wilson lost around 80 pounds.

A setback didn't stop Rebel Wilson on her weight loss journey
As is the case with any challenge in life, setbacks are a normal part of progress. Rebel Wilson can attest to this, as she faced some bumps on her own road to weight loss. In January 2024, she hopped onto Instagram to explain that with all of the movies and the release of her new memoir, "Rebel Rising," she had gained some weight. "Working really hard has meant that, coz of all the stress, I've gained 14kg's (30 pounds)! It makes me feel bad about myself...it shouldn't...but it does," she shared honestly. She asked her followers if anyone else struggled with hard feelings about losing momentum, and people were quick to share love and empathy.
Later that year, Wilson spoke about a breakthrough she made in understanding her emotional eating. "People often out there think that there's some magic pill, or some sick special diet, or exercise regime or whatever," she told People. "It's literally about working at a healthier way to deal with your emotions, and there is no magic solution," Wilson said, adding that she hoped her memoir would help others see that therapy and mindfulness can help tackle emotional eating, and that weight loss isn't about a quick fad. Her goal was to support and lift up those who struggled in the same ways that she did.
