Katie Holmes Is Nearly Unrecognizable With Chic Beachy Waves

Katie Holmes is rocking beachy waves and, like all things she tries, it looks absolutely stunning. The actor shared a photo on Instagram in early May 2025 where she exhibited her new style, along with a surprising jolt of blond to her hair, and we are all about it. If you want the look for yourself, there are a few different ways to create the ultimate beachy waves.

Holmes was showcasing her gorgeous waves and bold floral suit on her way to a party for one of her newest projects, "Poker Face." In the caption, Holmes thanked actor and director Natasha Lyonne for having her on Season 2 of the murder mystery series, in which Holmes stars alongside Giancarlo Esposito. The two play a couple who run a funeral home, so it's pretty macabre stuff. 

It seems like Holmes is taking a sharp turn from her on-screen style. Instead of short black hair that suits the grisly events, she's going for loose blond curls and the most feminine, chic suit imaginable. Fans loved her updated look. "The hair," someone commented on her post, adding a heart-eye emoji. "Stunning and I LOVE your hair like that!" another person gushed. "Your hair!!! Have you had it this long before? It looks so good! You always look great," a third person added. Clearly, fans couldn't keep quiet about Holmes' new style, which got rave reviews.

Katie Holmes manages to nail pretty much every look she wears. It doesn't matter if she's on a red carpet or running errands, Holmes has got it. But her style hasn't come without its own hard-earned effort. Holmes went through a stunning style transformation after her divorce from Tom Cruise, and has come to hold her own in the world of fashion. Still, the "Dawson's Creek" alum doesn't let the pressure of being a style icon get to her. She'll step out in casual clothes anytime she wants, and Holmes even posts pics of herself without makeup. (She looks gorgeous. No surprise there.)

But Holmes is changing up her look yet again, which just goes to show that her style continues to evolve. In the past, she has tended to stick to a rich, natural brown tone and infrequently experiments with waves. But that all changed in March 2025, when Holmes stepped out with a combination of brown and blond tones, showcasing one of the best versions of bronde hair we've ever seen. It's a much warmer look on her. Holmes added to that rich color by playing with texture, and the tousled, beachy waves she incorporated were so long that Holmes looked like a mermaid.
