5 Rihanna Maternity Outfits That Prove You Can Still Slay While Pregnant

When it comes to iconic maternity fashion, Rihanna reigns supreme. While some celebrities go for modest looks when they're expecting, the "Needed Me" singer puts it all out there — belly first — proving that she's not only fearless in her fashion choices, but that traditional maternity clothes are for other people.

"I'm enjoying not having to worry about covering up my tummy," Rihanna told People in February 2022 when she was pregnant with her first child. "If I feel a little chubby, it's like, whatever! It's a baby!" Although Rihanna admitted to the magazine that somedays she wants to lay on the couch all day, she explained that a little makeup and the right clothes can transform any mood. "You put some clothes on, and it's like, when you look good, you feel good," Rihanna told People. "I've heard that for a very long time, but it's true. It really can get you up off that couch and make you feel like a bad b****."

In true Rihanna fashion, she used the 2025 Met Gala to officially announce her third pregnancy — she had used her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance to announce baby number two — and looked stunning in the process while rocking an ensemble by Marc Jacobs. But it's not only at the Met Gala that pregnant RiRi shines. Even her street style maternity outfits are equally covetable. If you're thinking a pregnant belly needs to be covered up, think again. Rihanna is all the proof you need that you can still slay while pregnant.

Sheer Dior in Paris

When Rihanna arrived at the Dior Womenswear Fall/Winter 2022/2023 show in Paris in March 2022, she left little to the imagination — in a great way. For the event, she wore a black bra and a matching thong under a fishnet teddy. She completed the look with a black coat that she wore off her shoulders, knee-high shiny black boots, as well as a diamond choker and longer diamond necklaces. While lingerie as outerwear never really goes out of style, Rihanna showed the rest of the world exactly how this look is supposed to be done.

Glitz and glamour at the launch of Fenty Beauty at ULTA Beauty

March 2022 was a fantastic month for Rihanna's iconic maternity style. Just two weeks after her appearance at the Dior show in Paris, she was in LA celebrating the launch of Fenty at ULTA Beauty. For the occasion, Rihanna wore a custom silver Coperni crop top with a low-rise, floor-length skirt that was a striking explosion of glitter. She topped off the look with a diamond belly chain by Messika Paris that took the outfit to the next level. It was her night to celebrate the success of her company, so naturally Rihanna did not disappoint in her outfit choice.

Just a casual night out in faux fur

By the time Rihanna was pregnant with her second son, Riot Rose, she was ready to teach a master class in maternity fashion. Having announced her pregnancy at the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2023, in the months that followed, RiRi and her belly were everywhere, solidifying her as a maternity style icon. In May of that year, not only did Rihanna appear in one of her most stunning Met Gala looks, but her every day street outfits around New York City were also off the charts. After all, how many other people would dare to rock a low-rise leather mini-skirt, faux fur crop top and coat, and strappy sandals while pregnant? No one. Except RiRi, of course.

Iconic head-to-toe white after the 2023 Met Gala

In the summer of 2023, crop tops made a major comeback and it's hard not to wonder if Rihanna didn't have some sort of impact on that trend. After the 2023 Met Gala, she was spotted heading to an after party in a white cropped jacket and embroidered maxi skirt with a slit that revealed more than a little leg — with her belly front and center. She let an extra long cross necklace hang down past her exposed skin, showing that she wasn't shy about having her belly be the center of attention.

Braving the weather in a matching set by Miu Miu

Although the 2025 Met Gala was the official big reveal of Rihanna's third pregnancy, before the event, she was spotted outside The Carlyle Hotel under an umbrella (ella, ella) in a fitted gray long sleeve top and matching knee-length skirt. The set, by Miu Miu, was complemented by matching knee-high boots, a diamond necklace, and a casual bucket-style hat — that latter likely worn to protect her hair from the ferocious rain NYC got that day. In just a few short hours, Rihanna would arrive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in head-to-toe Marc Jacobs, fashionably late as always, and immediately prove that she's still — and will always be — the queen of the Met Gala.
